Hello,

I am new to this site and my name is Adam.

I came across CMT because I saw a bill in a till at work that had this site written on it. Unfortunately I could not get a hold of said bill to keep it for further reference but I did remember the site. Anyways I am here now and will start to track all the $$ that comes through my hands…

I am really anxious to get a hit and to see if my bills get hit as well…

Look forward to making my contribution and seeing where this whole things goes :D

cheers!

Welcome to the world of money tracking Adam.
Getting a hit & your bill geting hit is the same thing, you get points from both of them.
Giveing a hit (entering someone elses bill) just helps us all out, what comes around goes around.
It took me about 3 weeks to get my first hit, but it can very a lot.
Keep entering & marking, Happy tracking!

Welcome,Adam!

It's good to have someone else come aboard from Eastern Canada.

"EASTERN Canada?", you say.

Yes, EASTERN Canada. You see, here at CMT (Canadian Money Tracker) you'll have to get used to what I call a geography shuffle.

Ontario and Quebec have become EASTERN Canada.

British Columbia and Alberta are WESTERN Canada.

Saskatchewan and Alberta have become CENTRAL Canada.

Yukon, Northwest, and Nunavut Territories are elevated to "Provinces: North".

Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland are ATLANTIC Canada.

Now in all of this , please be eternally thankful that you have been simply relocated to EASTERN Canada…without even having moved! At least, you would appear to be considerably better off than are our Labrador cousins who, it would appear, have been banished to points unknown.

I have sent you a totally, unofficial, welcome note privately; I just thought that there might be others out there who are relatively new to this site and who might benefit from, at least a public-forum reference to, the geography shuffle that seems unique to CMT.

Happy tracking!

re: a geography shuffle

what we'd really need is a geographer in the mix here who might shed some illumination on this matter! :)

one of the things that attracted me to this site was the choice made by the site progenitor as to how he chose to subdivide the country and the nomenclature he chose to use. it was a refreshing change from the somewhat ill-formed view of the country that many are forced to endure in what passes for our grade school system. i suspect that you will find that few people born west of the Great Lakes will have any quibble as to this parceling out of names for the regions of Canada. BC and AB are clearly "western" in nature. SK and MB are, by virtue of their location at the longitudinal fulcrum of provinces, MOST properly termed "central" (time to check a map if you dispute this). ontario and quebec, given their position in the eastern portion of the continental mass, are correctly termed "eastern" while atlantic canada is that region in which that marine environment is ingrained in the cultural fabric and is both insular and peninsular in form. it is well to remember that "Labrador" is part and parcel of Newfoundland, certainly as it was termed when the forums were established. the only inaccuracy, as I see it is using the term "provinces" for the northern territories. all in all, it is an entirely appropriate description of the geography of Canada and one i heartily endorse! a "shuffle" is only necessary if one's perspective has been tainted by exposure to other biased perspectives. :)

welcome to both CMT and a new millennium perspective of Canada!
