Can anyone explain why the bills I just entered on Nov 20th'09 @ 9:40am is recorded as Nov 20th'09 @ 5:40pm? It does not make sense to me but there must be a reason. Anyone?

It's because we're using Greenwich Mean Time, although it's got a new name that I've forgotten. It happened last time some upgrades were done.
What particularly strikes me as funny is when I log in and I've received a HIT, only today is the day before the HIT was given.
The other bad thing about it is that the 24-hour day isn't from 00:00 to 24:00 on your HOME clock, so if you don't get online by a certain time, you've missed a day, even if you really were sitting at a computer sometime every day.
Thank you for explaining all of that. I did notice that some things had changed. I did not however think that this was another one of the time changes. Thanks again!
…personally, I'd rather that the clock be stopped; at least, it would be correct twice a day. I'd rather that than to have it appear as though it is never correct.
the clock is always correct. it only baffles people who are unable to subtract GMT-4=AST… or GMT-6=CST. yeah, you're right… way too much thinking involved… :)
You're right; the clock is correct. It just looks incorrect.
I don't see it as a case where "…it only baffles people who are unable to subtract…." I believe it baffles practically everyone…until such time as someone offers some clarification.
If there's an aspect of this whole thing that still baffles me, it's this: Why would anyone chose to prolong/perpetuate something that looks as if it's incorrect?
I can think of several possibilities; there probably are many others. These come to mind: (1) It's such a complex task to change it, that it's not worth the effort/time. (2) Someone somewhere actually prefers it this way. (3) Someone somewhere enjoys the reaction/discussion that it generates. (4) Someone somewhere may think it makes the site somehow look better because it's generating all this stimulating discussion. (5) No one with the power to change the clock situation cares enough/has time enough to make the change. (6) No one knows how to change the clock.
I guess for me, at least, I can live with CMT time whether it is correct, incorrect, looks incorrect or whatever; I'll check it once or twice a year until such time as it agrees with the clock on my wall; until then, I'll simply ignore it.
Prior to feb 28 when the clock "was correct" or "looked correct" it was still wrong! It was 1 hour out, must of been a daylight savings time thing.
As long as there's 60 minutes in an hour & it keeps ticking, it works for me.
One day the clock will stop ticking for all of us.

Living in AB, and being from SK originally, I don't like the daylight saving time change. Just when I've figured out the difference between GMT and AB time, the daylight change throws me off.
One thing I did discover, when I still lived in SK, was that you can set which time zone you are in on your page, making life a bit easier.
