User Limit

Whats everyone think of the daily bill entering limits?

DR (mad dog) owns dis heyah site, an' he don' like no one messin' wid da database. So, he made da limit so'se no one gets any funny ideas about enterin' 500 bogus bills, y'see?, Dis way, he can fix dem's guys good who tried dis in the past. He's not gonna spen' all day fixin' up some guy's idea of fun, an' that's why da limit, see? Oh yeah, an' he's not takin' no guff from anybody on dis limit thing- it's there, it's stayin' an' dats dat. O.K.? Any questions???

actually you might maybe if you beg pretty please get it increased by emailing dr.
or by entering your limit every day and soon enough you will not have enough bills to enter to fill the amount you are allowed.

Yup back in CMT infancy der was no limt but now dat der are more users, dere seems tuby people dat tink dey shud have fun and enter bogus bills,and dats why dr did what he done, and if yur truely interested in duh site yull stick aroun and if ya ain't so be it….Dats all folks…

Well said all! I just enterd the limit for about a month and now I can't get enough to keep up. It is starting to get hard to maintain my current level! So just keep marking and entering you will get there soon enough! Good Luck!!!!!

I wasn't asking how to raise them, and I read why they are there, I was simply asking what everyone thought of them.

At times, the limit has really annoyed me. Sometimes I've had a whole lot of bills, particulary at the beginning of the month when everyone pays their rent, and have had to go and deposit them in the bank before I could enter them all.

I understand the concept of limiting new users to prevent abuse and I agree.

My question is What are the limits at each level? I saw in the FAQ section a list of all the different levels but nothing more on them.

I've been meaning to ask this but never got around to it until now

Thats one Pooga or Sarge might be able to answer better than me but! As far as I can tell the limit starts at 10 a day then based on how many bills you enter and your level of particapation and how well you grovel before the hit gods your limit will go up! Basicly max the limit and beg!!

My limit has never been higher than 50.
Even when I WAS a Regular Tracker it was still 50.
dr demoted me TWO levels to Senior User and Jake to Tracker.
Jake has had unlimited forever it seems so I'll never be able to catch up.
Jake and I WERE planning to race each other to Dedicated Tracker since we were both Regular Trackers.
But that's out.

As you can see in this message, dr was planning to set limits for each level. I don't know if he has or if he has ever told us what they were.

I agree with 21!!! I'm a regular tracker and still a 50 limit. Jake has been unlimited for quite awhile. ( And is a tracker) Yes, somedays I can't get 50 bills, most day I can get more but why bother marking them if I can't enter them, and right now I have a bunch sitting here waiting to be posted. I don't understand how this works, I mean it really doesn't follow the dr's orders. I make the top 10 in hits and bills entered yet I can't get my level or bill enteries higher??? Go figure???

As it says in the subject, those were the limits as of June.

dr has never posted an update of what the limits are now.

(Our mysterious leader should be with CSIS, not DND!!!)

one of us should suggest an FAQ for User Limits in the bug tracker hey Poog?

While I realize that some people might have more bills to enter than they are allowed to each day, those limits where based on meeting the needs of the majority of the users at each level. And as I have said before, I will entertain requests to have user limits raised on a case by case basis.

21, as of the latest update to the system, WE BOTH have a limit of 50 bills. Wish granted.

Really, you two!! Stop the whining. It sounds like kindergarten! I emailed dr long, long ago requesting an increase to my bill entry limit. I was given one. Now, with the latest update canceling out my increase, my entry level is now 50, which is the level for both Trackers and Regular Trackers (and everyone else above Dedicated User).

Hmmmm…..sounds like a good idea. In fact, I already sent an email to dr the other day. Quite simple, really. And, I would imagine, much more effective than whining.

I agree with setting user limits. It happened to me a few times that I had reached my limit but that's no big deal. I just held on to my extra bills until the next day and entered them then.

Having fun with this site. Hope you keep it up for a long time.

Does this mean that it is now impossible to enter a bundle in one day?

I dont think ill ever have over 50 bills to enter in one day, and if i do i can just wait till the next day
