confused

I enterd a bill today that gave me a hit. When I viewed it It looks like it had been enterd first by someone else.It was entered first at 6:24am and then I entered it at 9:54am [3hrs 30min later] The bill was not marked. I picked it up last night, but didn't get it enterd until this morning.
Entered and hit on Feb 28th bill AOB63***56 [Sorry don't know how to make it a link.] I am really confused.

I think i knnow what happened, you wrote down the serial number, spent the bill, and then before you got a chance to enter the bill it was alredy entered by someone else. Then it shows up as they entered the bill first, then u enterd the bill and gave that user a hit. This is also called Hitting your own orphan bill.

Magpie…what you did is give dadums a hit and you got a notification because it was previously entered..It sounds like dadums is not marking his bills and he spent it before he entered it and then you got it and entered and marked it..Dadums will find he gets more hits if he marks the bills..Hope this clears up the confusion…

What wesbos said is also possible if you spent it long before you entered it…I guess wht needs to be known is…did you have the bill in your possession when you entered it. If so then the first senerio I gave you is what likely what happened.
If you marked it and spent it and entered it later then wes_bos is correct…

…so, if you entered it then spent it, then the other guy would not have got the hit that you should've got but didn't. You see, he got and entered the bill before you entered then spent it, then what happened would have happened, but vice versa would have happened if you didn't do what you did. So, don't do what you did, and then what happened won't happen again… …you don't wan't that to happen, do you,…?

Thanks for the laugh idjit and for clearing that up for me. I think I will take BDKINGSTON'S explenation it makes the most sense.

I've done that same dumb trick…
Found a list of serial numbers I wrote down and when I started putting them in I gave a hit.
I had marked them without entering and so someone paid attention to my stamp.
Anyway, it's a hit.

I had the bill in my possession whe I entered it. I got it from my Daughter and she got it as a tip at her work. I didn't enter it right away as she got home very late so I entered it in the morning. 3 hours and 30 min. after Dadums did.It is still showing as a hit on my info. Dadums must have wrote down the info and entered it after letting the bill go. I only wish Dadums had marked it. That would have saved me a lot of confusion.
