I was just going over the newspapers from while I was away and came across an article about a woman who got kicked out of a Saskatoon Wal-Mart for writing down prices!
Now what's up with that???? Was there anything more on that? Next thing you know, they won't allow you to SEE the prices! LOL
I know that on ocassion they ask to see my sales slip/ merchandise as I'm walking out, but I ignore them and keep going. After all, I paid for it, it's my property. If the have evidence that I'd didn't buy it, call the police and prove it in court!
whoa that's nasty, I was in Wal-Mart just last week doing some price checking for the store I work for. Good thing they didn't try to kick me out. It would have made front page news. "PRICE CHECK WAR IN AISLE 5, someone get a mop"
Had no idea it was against the Wallymart law.
I phoned to get a price on something at Superstore and they not only would not give it to me over the phone, they would not even tell me if they had one in stock. It was for some game of of the kids wanted for his birthday. I told them fine, I will just phone another store that will supply me with the information. I cannot remember what game, supernes maybe. whatever. their stupid policies cost them sales.
They have to keep a competitive edge and you might be a Superstore or Zeller's spy trying to undercut them.
Don't take it personally.
With CMT blood in your veins, I'm sure you can be big about the little things.
Yeah, I hate those gestapo types at the door. I'd be interested to see if they actually have the legal right to pull this crap AFTER you've already paid for the stuff. I've often thought about making a dash out the door to see what would happen… I heard that they will stop you from coming back if you challenge them on this point.
But how?? They would have to post everyones pictures at the doors!! "These people are not allowed to shop here, if you see them please go to customer service, a reward will be given??"
Ahh i cant wai till burlington gets a wal mart…Fun times will be had
I haven't heard anything about the woman getting thrown out but I too detest the 'gestapo' at the front doors, and am just waiting for one of them to stop me and ask for my receipt for my purchases. You want to see my receipt, charge me with theft, call the police and see where it goes from there
I've often thought about making a dash out the door to see what would happen…
That's what I do, except for the 'dash' part. Just walk calmly along and leave (pretend I'm deaf???). I recall reading somewhere that they can't force you to stop, it would be construed as illegal search and siezure.
I was at the superstore 'wholesale' place on 8th St., and I 'tested' their resolve one time by refusing to show them my receipt. The guy at the door actually reached up and switched off the automatic door so it wouldn't open. If I hadn't had my kids with me, I would've given them a run for their money, but I didn't want my kids to see daddy in action… Maybe next time- but I'd rather have some legal research under my belt…
Honest to G**, a WALMART clerk gives you an adrenalin surge?
All 21 would say, IF it ever happened again is,
"My receipt? I just gave it to my husband.
He's left for work. Maybe you can catch him…"
And then I'd push him/her out the door!
Ha.
My wife and I went to Wal-Mart yesterday. As we walked out, the security alarm was set off. The Wal-Mart greater gave my wife and I a big hug and sent us on our way.
OK! So I'm leaving out a few details …. The alarm was set off by a security tag on a DVD that we had purchased previously at CDPLUS. And the Wal-Mart greater was an old friend of ours.
But I like the story better without the details.
