Wrapper

I received a bundle of old musty fives from the bank today. It had a Bank of Canada wrapper on it. Does this mean anything and is it significant?

If someone knows, the info on the wrapper was:

I got three of those the second last time I got bills from my bank. The neat part about it was there was a WW bill and a marked CMT bill in them. This means that a bank sent the bills to the B of C, and they not only didn't destroy them, they re-issued them. I don't know what the numbers on the wrapper mean, but I suspect they are so the bundle can be traced through the system so if there is cash missing or bogus in the bundle, they know who handled it.

These are being used more often with UNC bills it seems to be, alot of people are announcing they are recieving them on bundles of UNCs on the cdnpapermoney forum.. If you are going to throw them away, I would be happy to take them..

One other point: I've had trouble getting UNC bills lately- when I get them they are all Journey series. If I get circulated bills, they are solid bundles of birds. Maybe the B of C is holding off on destroying birds series because the new bills are wearing badly. Any thoughts on this?

probably some stuupid banks sending back Birds. They may think they need to be destroyed.. I couldn't see the BoC destroying the Journey series because of the paper default. Only if they were majorly ruined.

I can't get any unc. bills of any sort. And when I did get mine, there were more Birds than Journey. I haven't had an unc. bill since Nov. And banks are supposed to supply my demands for money.

They won't sell me a bundle though. I managed to get one awhile ago but then the next time I tried they said, "The girl you're talking about doesn't work here any longer. She made a mistake. It isn't in our policy to sell bundles. We need all our fives."
And of course…me being 21 and all…I said "Yeah right. I've seen inside your safes. You've got TONS of fives."
WRONG THING TO SAY…in a casino. Security calls me by name now. And smiles. Just to let 21 know she's being watched.
