phantom hits

I now know why people are getting "phantom hits"… it's a result of the user entering the bill as per normal but then checking the "high/low" checkbox; so there are 81 entries in this table that probably should have been "hits"…

This high/low option was added to support Paul Wallis' high/low bill tracking, however to date it doesn't look like any users have used this.

Now before anyone asks if these hits can be credited to to their accounts or whatever, the answer is NO. The high/low tracking piece doesn't track postal codes so none of those phantom hits have the postal code stored.

I will have some sort of fix for this problem for the next version.

I've been using the high/low tracking. Only got one bill on it since none of my bills are high/low.

That's cool, but don't check the high/low box unless the bill was never in your possession (ie. you saw the bill on eBay). If the bill is a high/low, then add the high/low info by clicking on the link after adding the bill. But some people are checking the checkbox when they shouldn't be.

I could never understand why that was there in the first place. Can't the database figure out if it's a hi/lo bill?

Why bother with the checkbox at all? Just simply enter the bill.

All I do is check if the serial number is high/low looking, then go to the high low pages and see if it is. If the bill is a high/low bill, I add it. And I only add bills that I own.

It's there because the high/low tracker people track high/lows regardless of where they saw it. So, for example, if they saw the bill on eBay, they never had the bill in their possession. So how can they put in a postal code, etc? Trust me, I thought this through and this is the best way. This site is a money tracking site first, and everything else second including hits (are you paying attention all you people who whine about hits?). That said, I don't want the tracking part of the database "polluted" with bills that people saw on eBay or heard about from the bank or a friend or whatever. Make sense now?

Got it dr I don't use it my self but I did use the favorites check box. Could that be doing the same thing? Just wondering because I got that phantom hit shortly after.
