Is it possible to see where my bill has been before i got it? Or does it have to be matched by someone that previously entered the bill? In other words, if i bill that i enter is not matched with some other user's entry, is it still possible to see where the bill has been over its history?
That is correct! Unless someone has previously entered the serial number, you will be the point of origin for that banknote.
Are you stamping banknotes right now or just entering serial numbers?

Personally, i don't feel confortable marking currency. I am simply entering serial numbers/adding notes. Is it pointless for me if im not marking bills?
I wouldn't say its pointless, but if you dont mark the note with the URL the likelyhood that anyone will ever enter the note after you is almost nil. Even with a stamped note front and rear I only see a hit on about 9% of my entries, most certainly without marking you would be well under 1%. I would suggest you reconsider marking your notes to get the most enjoyment from the site.

Out of 5000 bills that I entered 1 or 2 where stealths.
It is a surprize when you enter a bill & find someone else has entered it.
That said I have entered about 1600 stealths & haven't got a hit yet. You should stamp or write the URL on at least some of your bills & see what happens.

it is not illegal to mark bills. ever see a bank teller arrested for stamping them?
