my first two hit day

and it comes compliments of idjit(who else). That just doubled my hits to four. Feels great gettin them hits

Pooga

Just be careful on those user hits!

Most of us in Saskatoon tend to avoid establishments that we know another user works at. Spending bills there is just a bit too obvious.

For example, we don't go to Co-op Convenience store on Fairlight because that's Idjit's turf. Likewise Master's Pizza Hut in Lawson, and Sarge's liquor store in Sutherland. That would not be in keeping with the spirit of the site.

antics

awww those places lose the business then?? what if you just go there anyhow and they not enter them. geez if it kept people away from me I would not enter any!

wally69me

i dont think i should stop shopping at a place that is very convenient to me and also where i have done most of my shopping in the past just because i started marking my bills. I am doing this to find out where my money is going, not to get a bunch of questionable hits. I want to see where it ends up. If i get hits from idjit because i shop there…great…if they are disallowed because of convenience, then so be it

I wrote DR to explain one…. I have only starting marking in the past week. I come from a very small place and have received one of my bills that I have marked. I have asked if this would be considered a hit or not… like wally69me, if its a hit, good! if not, then so be it. Guess I'll wait to hear from, dr.

Today, I have received 2 more bills with my markings on it.. but I haven't submitted them, because it is starting to look funny. Ohhhh the joys of small towns! NOT… just wish the money would circulate a little faster!

crazz

I know what you mean!! I'm from a small town and everyone has a bill with my writing on it. (And now they all know who I am!!!) I must see at least a 100 bills a day with my markings, I try to get anyone who's going away to trade unmarked bills with my special ones, some people even come in to change them over when they go to the city, it takes awhile but eventually the locals will help you move your bills away!!!

J-Lynn

when i saw my bill, i was all excited.. i am sure the cashier must have thought.. what a NUT!!… hubby did go out of town.. so i sent him along some of my bills when he said "honey, can i get some money of you?" (that will be the only time, i give money to hubby)

"Most of us in Saskatoon tend to avoid establishments that we know another user works at."
This is one area where Pooga and I would disagree. If I avoid shopping somewhere simply because I know there is a CMT user there, I am manipulating the natural flow of money- I'm actually diverting cash from where I would normally spend it because a CMT person works there.
All things being equal, I will spend my cash where ever it is most convenient, price is good, service is top notch, etc, and I make no effort to avoid CMT users whatsoever.
I will go even further: all things being equal, that is, if two places have the same product, same price, same service; except one has a CMT user and one doesn't- the one with the CMT user will get my business simply because they have that extra feature that will tip the scales for me. I make this choice as a consumer, the same as everyone else in society. Now, if I was going there only to get hits, I agree this is wrong, but to AVOID a store because there is a CMTer there is wrong also- it is as artificial as spending all your cash at an inconvenient, overpriced store with poor service that just happens to have a CMT user there.

Pooga

I think my use of the word 'avoid' was a bit strong. And I can't think of an appropriate replacement!

Let me approach it from another direction…. I won't go out of my way to spend money at an CMTer's place. Does that make sense? And it probably falls in the 'natural flow' idea.

For example, I am at a union meeting at least once a month at a site 2 blocks from Idjit. I dropped in to see him once, (He wasn't there!) but I have never gone over to buy something, anything, I didn't need, just to put a bill in his till.

I'm not sure I am getting my point across here…. anybody?

kaiser

I think I can help, Pooga.

What hes saying is, that since all the Saskatoon users generally know where each works, they don't go to the Co-Op(for example) just to get a hit from Idjit. They will go there if they find it usefull, not to send a bill that will most likely be hit. Thats what Pooga's trying to say, if I read it correctly.

wally69me

au natural…..i have shopped at the co-op ever since it was built there. i'm just surprised it took so long for me to get a bill from idjit that was marked, cause he worked there for some time before i got my first one. I will continue to shop there for everything that i purchased there before i joined cmt. let the hits roll on.

MmmBeer

Maybe once Idjit reconizes the stamp of yours wally, he won't enter them, just knowing that you shop there..

I dont think that you should have to change your shopping habits because a CMTer works at the place you have shoped for a long time..

Idjit

"once Idjit reconizes the stamp of yours wally, he won't enter them"

It's tempting, now that I don't have 'blue sky' limits, to leave other's marked bills until my supply is exhausted, but I don't like that idea, because holding back entering marked bills that appear in my till is a priority simply because they are there NOW, and should be entered at the time I get them. So that's how it will be at Idjit's place.

21MillionDollarBaby

Well that's nice for you idjit. 21 has to be really vigilant and not give any of her money to people she knows. because if they happen to read my stamp and enter it the hits all go to heaven.

What is natural about cashing your paycheck and running around breaking it down to $5 bills and spenging them?

Crazy Dwarf

The only thing I have changed with the way I handel my money, is I use cash now not plastic. I don't go around and change all my bills for unmarked 5's, or get my paycheck in small bills, I just mark what I get and go from there.

dr

I am exactly like Crazy Dwarf; I mark what I get and spend it. That's it.

As for your subtle whining, 21MDB, I removed those hits because it sure seemed like you told your housekeeper to enter them. Maybe you didn't, however, after the first hit from her you should have told her not to enter the bills anymore. Why? Because no one else gets hits from friends, family or people they know so why should you. And you know what, I'm tired of reading about your complaints everyday in the message board. When one of my friends gets one of my bills directly from me, I tell them about the site and tell them not to enter that bill as it's "cheating". Big deal, so I don't get a hit. Oh well.

Idjit

"What is natural about cashing your paycheck and running around breaking it down to $5 bills and spenging them?"
Or making use of your own cash machine…

dr

Well, Idjit, it's not exactly natural, but no matter. I'm not too concerned about naturally aquiring money as I am about naturally spending it. :)

pappahunt

There is nothing natural about my spending habits since comming to this site!! I only use my debit card at the bank and some days I go out 3 or 4 times to get somthing!! I will drive 20 miles out of the way to make sure I have cash on me to make a purchase!! The only natural flow I have comes from the bran muffins from tims!! HE HE !!!
