I don't know if dr can verify it, but <a href=http://www.cdn-money.com/cdnmoney/servlet/cmtViewBill?ID=202207 target=_new>this bill</a> looks like it might be the farthest north! It definitely is remote! On the Arctic Ocean!
Nice hit HOGGS!!!

Not to mention…but I think its the first hit in Nunivut!
I actually think I had on further north a little to the left along the same coast a couple of months ago.
I have TWO hits in NT
Actually, I think we are still waiting to get a Nunavut bill hit and a bill entry for that matter. It is killing me, I've been hoping to see those two lists on the the "top 10" page filled out for so long…
What DID NWT get divided up into anyway? I can't remember.
NWT and Nunavut..
I dont believe a single person has recieve a hit from Nunavut on the entire site.
magpie received a hit from Nunavut… user Deb76 on feb 27.
I do believe that Iqaluit is in Nunavut… geesh 25 days from AB to Nunavut… wtg!
Thanks MissBeeHaven. that was my neatest hit. It shows up on my hit list as Iqaluit NT not Nunavut though. I'm not sure where the split is.( didn't keep up on my geography)
As a Social Scientist/Geographer I have to include a link to a map, especially since I hear people saying they are unsure of the boundaries and I feel as Canadians we should know this. Nunavut is here.
Great! As a geographer I have a couple of questions.
Why Iqaluit for the capital? It was a small, out of the way village. Why not a larger, more established town like Rankin Inlet?
What are the 2 letter abbreviations for Nunavut and the North West Territories? One is NT. The other is ????
Thanks T-rev, that clears it all up. Thanks for the geography lesson. You are right as a Canadian I should have known this. Shame on me.
Pooga, the province (er, territory) abbreviation is NU. And the reason that there are no hits (thus far) in NU according to the site is because as far as I know, the postal code province lettter (ie. the first character in the postal code) is the same for both, which makes it impossible (as such) to determine the proper territory.

Ya, we had a user from Nunavut a few weeks ago, and started entering bills. Can't remember if they stayed or not.
Why was Nunavut created? It was created out of a native land claim. Largest native land claim in the world: 3 million sq. kms(I think), and a few billion dollars were given to the people of Nunavut.
Why Iqaluit? Its the largest town in Nunavut. Note I said town, not city. Theres no cities in the entire territory. Only 23 towns. Iqaluit is the largest, at about 4,000. Plus, its the most important town. Remember, all the major shipping going into Hudson's Bay sometimes stops there to refuel or whatever.
nice geography lesson…
Pooga:
As far as Iqaluit, from when I was looking up the map I came across a bit of history and apparently a plebiscite was held and 60% chose Iqaluit. A funny story I heard a few years back: the city did not have street names before, people 'just knew' where to go. But with being a capital and all now, apparently, it was decided they should make up street names. By the way, for a much better map go here.
thanks T-rev. Great map.
