Idjit: A new meaning

I have recently heard at school a bunch of people using the word "Idjit" as an insult. Nothing important, just thats the name of one of the most prominent users here.

I don't think its a new meaning, I've used the word idjit with my family for years. I use it as another meaning for the word goofy [not ment to be an insult]. No disrespect Idjit. You did say that your son picked that name for you didn't he Idjit?

Yeah, we banter back and forth all the time and a favorite ephithet is 'Idjit'.
