And 2 more notes "HPD" today
AUNC condition & AUNC condition from TD Canada Trust in Winnipeg.
Will this prefix ever get entered?? Just asking'
I have, in my possession, 2 more acquired yesterday from TD Canada Trust.
I will hold on to them since I have already emailed two photos of the other HPD notes.
If you want, I can submit their photos.
No 'dyslexia" this time, definitely 'HPD"
No problem, I have received both pics and will deal with them tomorrow once I get home from an extended road trip.
Thank you very much. I have a backlog of this prefix to enter.
Received 3 more even today.
Thanks again.
a reminder that gouche92 is an excellent Site Assistant … always has been and always will be. He has my utmost confidence. We, however, differ on what we use as evidence leading to prefix addition. I will not accept scans or photos as evidence – he may choose to. I can, in about 5 minutes, make a photo of a note with any prefix you would imagine, just as I could make a photo of BC and me arm-in-arm. I am a skeptic. I need independent, unbiased confirmation. Just thought I'd let you know.
Rudy:
Feel free to contact me via my email address in my profile. Any time.
Again, no intent to p*$$ you off.
Send me an email and we can "discuss" without airing on the board.

Although if gouche has one in HIS possession….
… wouldn't that constitute overwhelming, beyond a reasonable doubt, evidence???
I can be unbiased. Send me the bills as evidence and I will confirm it is real lol
I want to point out that it is most likely that a person would not bother with the time to change a picture or a scan to get a new prefix, I mean whats the point? But then again we had one user have multiple user accounts!

actually, no, not for me. but gouche has as much power to add notes as you and I, so we accept his judgement, right?… just like all of us are forced to accept the decision of those who are given the role of arbiters of these things, right? …just sayin'…. :)

our database is already muddied with quite a few notes entered with fictitious serial numbers. serial numbers that never existed and other bits of nefarious activity. when i undertook the role of site assistant and part of what I was tasked to do was prefix administration, I vowed that such things would not happen on my watch. Whenever you make something a game, people will find ways to cheat. It is human nature – call it "The Tragedy of the Trackers". I do my best to make it more difficult to skirt the rules and some people seem offended by that. I completely agree with you – what do people get out of cheating???… who knows, but we know it happens, and you bring up a perfect example. I will try to do my part in being vigilant.
I wholly reject the notion that a user of this site would have the motive and/or motivation to Photoshop a note for any reason. A scan or photo is, in my opinion, a more than reasonable form of evidence of a serial number's validity. To require something more convincing than that only serves to diminish the utility of the site, as it forces users to either sit on notes with unvalidated serial numbers, or release them with the risk of a missed hit. I understand the need to maintain the integrity of the database, but I find these "proof vs. evidence" arguments to be thoroughly absurd.

Furthermore, would it not be possible/prudent to establish a "Trusted List" of users who aren't filthy liars? Like, make a determination that fordjae is honest, and accept all of his photo and scan submissions thereafter without hesitation. It's like how the Greystone Co-op Gas bar no longer requires me to leave collateral when I borrow their pressure gauge; they know I'm good for it.

"I need independent, unbiased confirmation."
So what you mean to say is that until a site admin sees a hard note, with that prefix there is really no point in posting on this forum about prefixes we do not have in our database? Or is there some other place of verification?
If it's the former, once these polymer notes become the dominant edition in circulation it's going to be a real bitch of a time.
