aren't they different?! you might as well spend it because there is, at present, no way of adding it to the database.

intervention is needed from someone at a level higher than Site Assistant.

I believe Where's Willy will let you add the new notes already, so maybe go there for the time being to track the new notes

rudyk

new PREFIXES can be added to the existing series. we (site assistants) can't add new series. just an artifact of the programming.

Staz-on works! Tested it this morning. Unlike the cotton series. however, you must ensure the ink has dried completely on the polymer before you handle it, or else it smears.

Good to hear! The BOC reportedly has printed all 22 prefixes of the EKA-EKZ series and says it won't have to print another run for at least 7 years. Notice that the 'k' was taken from the unpopular $1000 series.

My apologies to Rudyk for getting frustrated at the speed which this website appears to move allowing for a new series of Banknotes to be entered. Understandably we're seeing a number of different prefix combinations that used to belong on defunct banknotes like the $1, $2, and $1000. Yes it is important to verify and try to minimize the number of false entries that are caused by these new prefixes, so it's good that CMT has reliable people to check this info. I just wonder regarding the delay if it lasts weeks or months and causes people to give up and go elsewhere.

Wheres Willy relys on at least one individual to report what's coming down the pipe from Ottawa and therefore the wait time is lessened and those eager to EMS the new bills can do so with little or no hassle.

A day or so wait is fine but any more than that is unrealistic nor should one have to wait for a HPD or HPP to be verified when HPC-HPL have been confirmed. Obviously the prefixes are not distributed in any particular order or certain time, nor has the BOC always followed it's own rules. Check out the Serial Number Database at <a href="http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/forum/"target=_blank">CPMF</a>, and read their forums.

Both WW and CPMF should assume that the BOC is going to go forward with a full run of prefixes unless otherwise noted and yes there are gaps out there and always the possibility that a range of notes may be scrapped.

Have you tried entering a BIA note at Whereswilly? Over there where they are "reliable, knowledgable [sic] and trustworthy", they don't think it exists!

Just to note that I have waited on a "HPD" prefix since receiving my first one on 30 OCTOBER.
I continue to receive them, almost daily. Is it possible that I am the only one to receive them or that Winnipeg is the only city were these have been distributed?

I hate stamping them and passing them out to the general populous BECAUSE…should someone get a marked note and try to enter the prefix that "isn't in the system", what will they think, forgery perhaps?? I'm sure it would turn them off from wasting any time trying to enter any other prefixes, making it a possible missed 'hit' for one of our members.

Just my two cents worth.

My suggestion would be not to mark them and just spend them until they are in the system..Mostly for the reasons you list…

As I have already entered a few of the new $100s at the other site all I would really like is the opportunity to do the same here with a CMT handstamp so I can compare hits if and when they resurface.

I woudn't even be able to send in an acceptable scan if asked as my scanner stops partway through. I have to flip the bill upside down to get the serial # for the note registries, but that is fine with me.

It just doesn't seem fair to deny these entries on valid prefixes in our possesion. It's been over two weeks now since the Polymber $100 was released, far far too long of a wait if you ask me. Mind you I do understand the concern having seen odd entries with a Q listed from the Bird and early Journey Series. There are strange prefixes coming out on a regular basis now for reasons only the BoC knows, so there are lots of suspect bills at first.

Here's a suggestion that might just work rather than have a member or guest go through the steps of entering a bill only to be told it's not a valid prefix.

Why not post an alert on the homepage informing trackers that they currently unenterable and ask them to return soon, this way there is less likelyhood of the new bill being stamped before being entered. Ie: "All dressed up with no place to go!"
