New Prefix BIA

Let's try this again. I got this note today from the ScotiaBank ATM at the South Hill Mall here in Prince Albert. I sent a picture, not modified, to admin for this website.

I am trying to get an answer on BIA from BOC.. I don't know when I will hear, but if one gets a note from an automated teller I would expect it to be okay..

It nice to get the response here I did considering it was posted here before(some more than others ;) ). It really sucks that we have to wait until we can get it "confirmed"

yeah, it really sucks when some free thing i partake in doesn't respond with alacrity to something that i perceive as a major hardship. it's sorta like the fact that the admin email address for this site hasn't worked for months and yet no-one remembers that oft-repeated detail. that may, however, be an outgrowth of the fact that it being down hasn't really been of any great impact. and hey, look!… the sun came up again today!

really, folks… is it time for the william-shatner-esque "get a life" speech????

I think some wise people should get a gmail account or of the like and use that instead. And put it in the help section. But its not a big deal.

I also have a BIA note in my possession. I have checked all 5 security features. They are present and correct.This is a viable note..I sent a scan to pooga. If anyone else needs this scan to verify my claim, please let me know…

I saw the scan and sent it to rudyk. Since this prefix is not showing up anywhere in the collecting world, there is something strange happening. Comparing serial numbers might be useful…

If someone is so inclined, maybe a call to the RCMP, or the BofC, or even a bank branch might be in order.

I talked to the RCMP and they gave me the securiy features check list. I checked the security features on the note I have and they are all correct and present. I called the BoC and they haven't called back.

Did they have any prefixes to be wary of?

This has been a hot topic for a while now. I would have also expected to see BIB and BIC prefixes by now. If they don't show up, something is fishy.
