I found a stamped bill in my cash register and I didn't know if it was real or not so I went onto this website and read a little about it but I am not completey sure what is going on? In a nutshell I think it's just about tracking money and where it's been, but i always thought it was illegal to deface money. If someone could take the time to completely fill me in that would be great.

Welcome! You are right- it's about finding out what happens to your cash after you spend it. There's also a little competition mixed in- to see who can get more hits on bills, like you just did. No, it's not illegal to mark bills, the last law dealing with that was repealed almost 30 years ago now. It was written off the books along with a number of other unenforceable laws.
