Anybody notice how the rest of the country goes nuts twice a year when the time changes there? At least in Saskatchewan things stay nice and calm. (except at SARM conventions!! LOL)

dr, I noticed when logging on, it said 'central daylight time'. You should be able to program in that if the user is from Saskatchewan, keep it on CST. So the log was an hour ahead, but that's okay, because for the last 6 months, the add bill page was an hour ahead, but is now current, and now I don't have to edit it.

"Isn't Saskatchewan going to hold a vote on daylight saving time?"
Premier Calvert mentioned in an interview last week that there could be a referendem vote about daylight savings time in the next election.

Naw, we need to change so we can have all that extra time, like them other provinces… …don't they get 32 hour days?

I think we should change just like everyone else. A lot of people who have said we should keep it the way it is think that it would be "confusing" (I saw someone say this on the news a few years back when the debate arose). To me this is an insult to residents of Saskatchewan. I hope there is a referendum and I hope we change. Just my opinion though.

It's been running as a 'footer' on the CTV newsnetwork for the past week. ' Saskatchewan may hold a vote on Daylight Savings Time'. It would reflect the change of population base from rural to urban if it were successful.

I rather like the idea of everyone around us changing thier time. like we are the central gods or something :o)
kind of like the planets revolving around the sun. It does not matter to me whether we change or not too much. would prefer morning to be later though.

Saskatchewan is NOT the only place that doesn't change. Technically, you could say that we are on MDT year round. The referendum here will be split. The eastern part of the province wants to stay on the same time as Manitoba, and the western part wants to be on Alberta time. I say, disband Saskatchewan, split the province in half, and add the parts to MB and AB. Everyone in the West would be better off for it. More clout in Ottawa too.

Hey, a long time ago Sask. did change the time, and then it was voted on to stay the same. (This was a bit before my time, but my mom told me) And I like it this way. When I'm in Edmonton in the winter I find it strange to be so dark at 4:00 p.m.!!!

I remember when we used to change time and it was a pain.
Change the clocks. Go to bed an hour early because you tomorrow you will be getting up an hour earlier. Then when it went the other way you get asn hour more sleep but that just means you loose an hour you could have been having fun.

Having daylight savings means capturing twilight in the evenings until midnight in the summer. Unless you're a farmer and on the fields at first light the majority, urban, enjoy lighter, longer evenings in the summer.

HOGGS

All the discusions. What is the answer? If any buisness person wants more evening they start earlier in the day. The time doesn't actually matter if you think about it.

Daylight Savings Time was made during WWI, becuase England wanted more production for the army. Just so everyone knows.

BDKINGSTON

So if you want more daylight hours change the hours of work during the winter and summer and do it that way…Why change the clocks…Clocks just give you a reference..It doesn't make sence to change the reference point. It's like saying meet me by the house on the hill and then saying the house will be 100 meters further south when you meet..

wally69me

I too remember changing the clocks back and forth when the time changed. It was a literel pain in the A.. It took me a week to catch up on sleep lost from that one hour change. Leave it like it is. sunset at 10pm is lots soon enough for me in the summer
