My Milestone of the Day

Today I entered 43 bills (mostly 20s) that brought my number of bills entered to over 600 and my value of notes entered to over $10,000!

They're miniscule amounts compared to what the hobbyists put up on here, I know - but for a guy who only enters a few notes once in a while, mostly from what happens to be in his wallet at the time, it doesn't seem too bad!

Though the milestone is really making me go "hmmm." I've been a member on here for just over 10 years. What have I spent most of that $10,000 in cash on over the last decade, I'm thinking? :P

Also congrats.

I sometimes wonder if CMT has resulted in me spending more money than I otherwise would have spent. My wife thinks so. Once, I intentionally got a parking ticket so I could offload some fives in Washington State.

Thanks a bunch, guys! I've only tracked a fraction of what I've spent in cash…and obviously that doesn't even include what I've paid for through debit or credit cards.

And I've never actually considered myself a big spender. Crazy how it all adds up!

So now I'm curious, fordjae…Were they "Where's George" fives, or were you trying to unload some Canadian ones just to see what kind of response you got? (Kidding.)

I was offloading some CDN fives in Maple Falls, WA (my other home). I think I've had one hit off CDN I've spent in WA. I always try to ditch my small cash before I head back north, just to see if it gets any more US hits, or heads home. As a rule, I try to spend as many CDN fives as possible, without regard for where I am. Absolutely every store in WA will happily take CDN, with the sole exception of some crotchety old asshole who owns a WSLCB liquor store on Meridian Street in Bellingham. That guy is just about the grumpiest dude I've ever met. Furthermore, his reasoning behind not accepting CDN (even though all the other stores in the chain do) is that "This is America, and in America we use American money. You don't see folks back in Canada trying you use American money." is nonsense. I hope he's retired or dead the next time I go back. The only reason I shop there is that the Whatcom County Bus Line stops in his parking lot on its way back up the Mount Baker Hwy to Maple Falls.

Actually, it is surprising how much people "recycle" money in the economic system even for just day to day life!
