Provincial Gathering Spot

Looking for a spot for the Provincial gathering, we know about a small park near Craik, but how about something closer to Hoggs? We're still looking at June 1, so we really have only 6 weeks to plan this all out!

Is anyone familiar with <a href=http://www.se.gov.sk.ca/saskparks/parks/park.asp?park=Touchwood%20Hills%20Post target=_nre>Touchwood Hills Post?</a>

Or how about going to <a href=http://www.parkithere.ca/parkdetails.asp?PARKSEL=48 target=_new>Manitou?</a> or to my personal choice at this time, <a href=http://www.parkithere.ca/parkdetails.asp?PARKSEL=41 target=_new>Last Mountain?</a>

if you pick a real nice spot to meet, i may have to take a days vacation to attend just to check the place out.lol

Just my thoughts:

Although Touchwood Hills is very close to HOGGS, it has um, a water tap. It would probably be more exciting pitching a tent in the ditch outside RaceTrac Gas in Quinton. At least that would be within walking distance to Doritos and an indoor toilet (during business hours of course).

Manitou although would be cool cuz I've never been there, its almost as far from HOGGS as Craik, and he's kinda vetoed that because of distance. Also, "Swimming lesions are offered and a boat launch is available.", scares me.

So, I think I must cast my vote to Last Mountain. "Publinc swimming is daily as well as lane swimm. Adult swims are offered on weekends where adultls can enjoy a relaxing hour in the pool. There is also a beach and a faft if people prefer the lake." Cuz, I'd take a faft over lesions any day!

Hukd on fonix werkd fer me ;)

I think on the 1st weekend of June it may still be too cold to do any swimming, regardless of where we are…except an indoor swimming pool.

Cold???? lol. no no no. It's all good man. I'll be swimming May Long haha. How about a lake north of Prince Albert. These lakes are unreal here, and very nice. Ah, it doesn't matter, but I like Idjit's shrimp boil idea.

Ya, I noticed most of the outdoor pools, etc. don't open until the middle of June anyway. (But I still want to avoid lesions).

The other thing I liked about the Last Mountain is: "The park also has a picnic hall for rent for reunions, wedding, and suppers. There is a full kitchen and screened in area." The 2003 Accommodation, Resort & Campground guide says "Picnic Hall $70/day. Group camping with hall rental only." Dunno if anyone would be interested in renting the hall, but at least that's an option there.

I'm a camper, I don't know how many others are, so I'd be looking at going down Saturday and staying overnite. I tent, so when you arrive Sunday, just knock the frost off me and I'll be ready to go :P

Any more news on this folks? We have less than a month until the expected date. Happily, I was able to get that day off! =)
