Strange bill...

I recieved a $5 bill in circulation today it is a 1986 series Knight-Dodge signature with the serial number GPZ0122160. The thing is, that it is 2mm longer than other bills, but the distance between the edge and the image on the bill is exactly the same as other $5. Also, the colors on the bill (orange hues in particular) are much brighter than other 5's, even other new crisp 5's. Anyone know something about this? I'm stumped. I don't think it's a counterfiet because the security features are perfect. Any clues would be nice.

Yeah, sure, it will probly look exacly the same as a normal bill over the scanner though. It dosn't seem to be a standard cutting error, because one side or the other would have to have a different distance from the edge of the bill to the image on the bill. This is not the case. I'll send the scan in the morning.

A while ago I found at least one 20 that was like that. The bill, as well as the picture printed on the bill, was wider than a normal bill. I'd wondered if it was counterfeit, but other than the one difference, it seemed perfect. I ended up spending it in the end. If you are going to scan it, scan a normal bill alongside it - that ought to show the difference more.
