This is the week that the banks begin to 'flood the market".
Word has it that all 'paper' $20's and the 10's & 5's that are in less than good condition will be pulled.

This will have a definate effect on this site…..

So far I have seen FEY, HBJ, HBK & HBH Polymer notes and am not concerned with the rate the older series are being pulled. Much more of a challenge is marking the new notes and hoping others don't try to remove the stamp. It will definately have an effect on repeat hits since there is no push to keep them in cirulation any longer than needed.

The situation since the release of the high demonations is much different with the lower ones.

While most of the $50 and $10 Journey notes are fairly uncommon now, they still circulate to some degree. Even the odd Bird series note sneaks out of the bank from time to time.

The $20s are the workhorses of the economy and it will be quite a few years yet before they completely dissapear. With the $5s and $10s again there are probably billions of them out in circulation now where near ready to being sent back for destruction due to excessive wear.

A favourite website of mine that tracks serial #s and prefixes (no EMSing going on)for research reports six new prefix ranges for each new $5 and $10 Polymer note with many more being recorded as each day goes by.
