Just out of curiousity… eeveryone is putting stamps on their bills to track them, but is that defacing the bill? Is it illegal? Cause I don't want to start putting stamps on bills and then find out it is illegal… any insight on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Merry Christmas and a Funky New Year!!

Get enough users in your area, and the bank tellers and clerks seem to get used to seeing them!

I don't think we've had a case of an upset teller in Saskatoon in a while now.

Bottom line… if banks can stamp and write on bills, what's the problem? It's still recognised as a bank note.

my friends folks work at a bank.. He says the bank tellers and staff get permission from the government to write thier numbers and stamp the bills.. I still think what pooga says.. if they can do it, we shall be able to also!

Up until yesterday I never had enough bills so that they ever noticed, but the one menopausal rigimortis afflicted teller (my least fav at my bank in case you didn't notice)
took the 20 crisp fives with their beautiful new rubber stamp marks to her superior to try to get permission to tell me she wouldn't take 'em or call the cops or god knows what went through her head? Needless to say she came back with a dejected look on her face & handed me a $100 bill & said nothing. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! lol oh & BTW
I got the same trip from another till wench at the B of M..
same result :)

I actually had a positive experience at a B of M. The teller was really interested in it. I confessed to looking up the site, but not to the actual marking of the bills.
