I have come across an unknown note, as far as this site is concerned. I do know of one other one that exists.
When I try to enter it on this site, it comes back unknown prefix.
How can I get past this? I am new to this site but have been collecting for 30 years. I do not, and will not mark bills,
but do want to share info and track notes.
I have a 1991 Gem Unc. $20.00 Prefix EWO (Perfect). (It may not be so rare soon) Has anyone seen one of these?
Also could anyone point me to where all notes are listed?
Sorry to seem so stupid, I'm hoping it's just old age.

i think ive entered a few of these. Ill tell dr to add this to the Data base, but I think it is added. Are you sure you put it as a 1991 20 dollar note?
Check that while I tell hiom to add that prefix..
Also, plz cross out the serial # next time in a scan so cheatwers dontr enter it and give fake hits thanks
Thanks MmmBeer, I can and have entered the note now.
I understand your answer and thank you.
What I don't understand is people can get serial numbers from many web sites, or even the notes on this one.
What goes on here in this site, that makes me have to blank out serial numbers?
Also, am I wrong to assume that I can view organized lists of notes and prefixes that have been found?
yea, but your entering that bill. Other people will enter it and make a hit for you, therefore making Dr to delete the invalid hit.. Its not a conspiracy or something, just don't want fake hit being produced.
About the serials from other sites (like cdnpapermoney) just trust that poeple wont enter tyhem I suppose, if you want to enter them (say as a High/low) just check off that it is a bill from another site, and you are just entering it as a High/Low. Therefore it wont be counted toward your bills entered and people cant reenter it to give you a hit.
Dr should check out the prefix situation tomorrow
About the only thing viewable are the hi/los under the search tab. After doing a search, I see that one EWO prefix bill has been added. Is this your bill?
Yea, goto search, than high/lows, and foillow the directions from there
I suppose that may be my note, as I just listed it. I don't yet know how to see it on any list. Where do you go to see this note on the list? Or should I be in the hi/low section?
I have hidden the serial number on the photo as requested. If this site prefers no scans then I will not post any. (Let me know)
I am new to this site (very new) and my only interest was to see any lists of all notes and prefixes.
I have no idea how the hitting or tracking works on this site, and no offense to anyone at all, but I love this hobby for the beauty of the Canadian notes and to track prefixes and rare notes. I will never mark a note. I only came here as I saw the posting of the new Hi-Low system on the Cdnpapermoney site.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm afraid I have a lot to learn here.
Bare with me people.
I'm also waiting for the $100 prefix 'BJU'.
Has anyone else seen that one?
Understood, and Thanks again,
but is there not a spot where I can see all the 5's/10's/20's..etc note prefix's or numbers listed in order?
No there is nowhere you can go on this site to see the bills listed in order..But if you wish to see if certain prefixes have been enetered you can click on search then high/low bills and enter the prefix and it will at least tell you the high and low bills entered for that prefix on this site.. under bill search you can also search for entered bills but it puts them in the order they were entered not by prefix..
Welcome aboard old collector….I hope you enjoy the site and don't be afraid to ask questions..Someone of us will answer if we know…
I have never heard of there being a problem with posting scans but we do hide part or all of the serial number in the posts so as not to tempt those who would come to the site and enter those serial numbers without have the bill in their possession..
is there not a spot where I can see all the 5's/10's/20's..etc note prefix's or numbers listed in order?
The feature has been requested as part of a stats package. It's implementation depends on how busy the webmaster is. The entire list may not be shown, however we are hoping the number of bills in a certain prefix will be available.
For now the only thing that might interest you is the hi/lo numbers. Again, click on 'search', click on 'high/low search', enter the denomination. If you leave everything else blank, you will get a listing of the hi/lo's in all the prefixes of the denomination.
Thanks people, got it. Is this site more geared to marking and tracking notes other than listing them as Cdnpapermoney's Hi/Low does? I've noticed that the figures there do not change very often. I was under the impression that the Hi/Low system here was to take over from the Cdnpapermoney one. Is this true? or will there be both still?
I believe the site administrator did the hi.low thing for collectors but I don't think it will take the place of the functionality of Cdnpapermoney one but it is meant to be complimentary to it…
Also, this site is more geared toward marking and tracking but there are a number of collectors at this site and we all talk about just about anything to do with money..SO stick around and if you have questions, and someone has an opinion or an answer, they will reply and possibly when we have questions you may have answers for us..We are a friendly and inquisative bunch..
Thanks BDKINGSTON
I will stick around as this site looks good and I do have much stock and info. Does anyone know of a site similar to these two, that are devoted to coins?
Lol at sarge.. nice prefix, and if it had your girlfriends phone number on it as the serial :-) ROFL
At one point, Dr had contemplated making a penny tracking site, but i don't think anything sprung from that. A coin one would be cool, but very hard to do.
How would you be able to track a coin?
Sorry, I tried to make my question clear. I am new to this site and have since realized that this is mainly for tracking notes. I asked the question about coins not to track but to try to find a similar site to Cdnpapermoney where many coin collectors can share info and trade.
old collector; there is an msn group called STAMPCOINTRADINGPOST that might be what you are looking for.
i was thinking of a coinb site also.. You would have to put a sticker on the coin, and the site would have to give you an ID number to write on the sticker, as well as the site (of course).. it would be neat for a twonie because they last for many years.
Thanks for the great advice people, but I was in no way suggesting that we try to stamp or mark coins. That is not where my interests lie. I'm an oldcollector of rare notes, coins and the odd rare muscle car. I came here to see the hi/low data base and to share info.
Great bunch of people here, and I will try to educate myself more about this site.
yeah, its alright to just enter and see if you get hits wityhout stamping.. You don't have to if you dont want to.. Read the FAQ under help if you like to know anything else, the answers are usually there..
Did you end up being able to enter the bill?
Welcome to the site
Yes thats my EWO. Thanks, I hope I entered it correctly as hi/low, and not as one that will be stamped.
