Have you considered adding a counter for the number of hits (visitors) the site itself gets?

If not a total number of hits, at least a monthly counter.

Nah, counters are so 1994. Seriously. So, if you're really that interested, you can plead your case over email and I may reply with some answers to questions you ask; the webserver tracks hits and all that good stuff. Plus counters are misleading; multiple requests for whatever page the counter is on (say the main page) could be very misleading if the users check the top ten from there. Also, hits don't equal visits.
