Hey everyone! I was looking around the other site because I was reading how some people had emailed some of the users there. Lets take this serious, DON'T SPAM THE WW USERS!!! They had a stran of at least 20 messages complaining about spaming from our users… that is retarded! We know they are a bigger site but we will not become a better site by spaming their inboxs hoping to win them over. They also were talking about stamping over our stamps, which I don't think is right, but we shouldn't do it. Anyways, lets play fair and we will one day rise above them. They own the east, but we own the west so keep tracking my friends!
Also another thing that has gotten the other site alot of users and publicity is
1) Advertising
2) News Articles
If you feel you want to spend your cash on advertisments for CDN Money Tracker than props to ya! But something that anyone can do is get CDN Money Tracker in their news papers. Try writting an article and submitting it to your paper…. you'll be surprised how interested they might be.

First, WRT newspapers. The big daily's aren't likely to cover anything about the site. Look for local weekly community papers - perhaps even the free one's that are delivered to every home, and see if they have a 'geek' section. That is the place to go. Also, university and tech school papers.
Now, regarding the spam wars and the 'Dark Site'. Ever since that happened, every five days I have been comparing our numbers for total entered, and total dollar value, compared to their same figures. Then, using Quattro Pro, I graph this. The information is inspiring, to say the least!
On November 5th, we were at about 32% of their totals, and gaining, at a rate of about .6% every 5 days. Currently, we are about 45% of them, depending on catagory, and gaining at about 1.5% every five days. If this rate froze, we would catch them in about 5 months. But, with our own growth rate, and now hitting central Canada big (thanks BabyDutka!), I think it will happen a lot sooner!
If anyone wants to see the figures or the graphs, e-mail me at my regular address (not anonymous e-mail), and I'll forward them to you.

And don't forget qxghscx in Halifax! A couple of hundred bills in circulation for him (her?) will make a big difference. We're really depending on people down East to help us out. One dedicated user in Newfoundland and one in PEI would have those areas going strong in no time as well.
Speaking of which… everyone remember to check your user setup and set your location!!! Hard to find you in the 'search' routine if you don't. (and while you're at it tell us about yourself too)
The spam issues is dead. Please drop that line of questioning (to use a cheesy phrase from lawyer shows).
In terms of advertising, part of the reason I like this site so much (not just because I built it) is because of controlled growth. Why did all those dot-com companies fail? Because they grew TOO fast. We have grown slowly but surely, and the quality of the people we get registering and participating is of a higher quality. How can I say that they are a higher because the people find out from seeing the website on a bill, rather than via a newspaper or TV or radio, they are more likely to check the site out, enter the bill and continue to participate as opposed to hearing about the site, checking it out and never returning. Just my thoughts.

Yes, very true. And the other comment you made about the quality of users is also very true. I didn't get the line about the spaming wars but I am asuming you just what me to shut-up about it… :) so I guess I will. Well I think that's it for me tonite boys and girls. Also I forget who was talking about the graphs they were doing, but it sounds cool. Maybe I'll email you sometime and see what they look like. Grace.
