I noticed on SAUCY's hit today that a bill went from 'very good' to 'poor' and almost ripped in half in 56 days.
Is this kind of wear and tear normal?
Anybody have some stats or data on the subject?

I believe it all depends on the people that handle the bill. You get grown-ups handling the bill and they have more respect for the bill, try to keep it nice. But if some 7 year old kid gets it, he may crumple it, rip it etc just to say he has done that. Im in grade 9 and in my gym class a kid took a fiver and crumpled it in a small ball, wouldnt see an adult doing that i guess.

And did you notice that the $10 bills issued in 2001 wear out incredibly fast compared to all of the other bills? The quality of the paper must have been reduced considerably for these new bills

Ya, I found that as well. I especially noticed that the serial numbers seem to wear off faster than me riding my sportbike.
