One our most active members is leaving us and moving to warmer climate and hot sun. He is not just going for the winter , he and his wife are leaving Canada to spent their retirement in the warm and sunny Mexico. The papers are all signed and packing is taking place and as of Dec. 31 2018 our dear friend MOVIE FAN is starting the New Year in his new home. I have enjoyed my conversations with him and we have talked about many things other than money tracking. I for one am sad to see him leave us and will miss seeing his name on the logged in list. No longer will he be around to set me straight on things and take my constant ribbing. I must also confess that I applaud him for following his retirement dreams and wish I too was making the same move. So let us all say " UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN" Safe Travels and Happy Times.
Sorry to see you go. But enjoy…You will be missed…
Yes, It's True!
On Dec 31 of this year, my dear wife and I are leaving Canada to reside in Sunny Mexico.
Usually at this time of year I ask "Santa" for a Daily Limit Increase, but this year I'm not going to do that (wink, wink) 😉
I have immensely enjoyed being participant on this site. It was an honour to wear BankCollector's crown and occupy his chair for some time. But the time came for him to have it back.
Yes, we are busy with paperwork and packing. The biggest thing was selling our household possessions and our car. I can happily report that the car has now been sold and approximately 90% of our possessions have sold. nWe are having an "open house" for our buildings residents this Saturday from 11- 3 to see if we can "off-load" the rest. Anything that isn't going with us (yes, there are some things), will be donated to a local charity.
I will still be entering some notes up until the 30th, but after that it will only be when & if I happen across some Canadian notes while in Mexico. I'm sure(?) that with all the notes I've entered, I'll still be getting "hits" for some time.
I might be checking in from time to time, so I won't totally disappear.
I want to especially thank BANKCOLLECTOR for his utmost friendship, companionship, and challenges. When I first started here, he was the first to reach out and offer assistance to me. It was a real pleasure to race to the top against him, and enjoy that spot while I could.
For all newcomers, I say, "Be prepared as this site can and will be addictive".
To ALL members, I thank you all for allowing me to be part of his family, and a special shout out to POOGA, a man that I've managed to get under his skin many times, but mostly a big THANK YOU for all that you do do keep this site up & running.
So, In closing, I have two things to say:
1) May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New year in 2019 (PLEASE REMEMBER THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!)
2) Adios Amigos & Amigas….Hosta la Vista!!
