STEALTH NOTES

I have given BC hits on 2 stealth notes in the last week…One of them was sitting dormant for at least 6 months in the Lions float.. I don't enter them until we are about to use them…

Aw now that seems wrong … when you get them they should be entered at once and if they sit in a cash box for six month and mature that is good. It tells the true story.

Too many calories for an old guy like you.

I used to do the same thing with Girl Guide cookies (NOT the mint ones!).
The little girl (usually a “Spark”) would be at the door with her mother not too far off. The joy of seeing that smile grow so huge when I said I wanted to buy a full ‘big’ box, not just the little one she was carrying.
Always surprised the mother’s as they had to confirm what the little one said.

I remember my young days as a student out there selling different things to support school projects and trips. So when these young people come to my door I gladly support their cause, most times I buy everything they have with them and then give them away to my staff and stocking stuffers if near Christmas. How would you feel if your Christmas Bonus was taped to a box of candy. Not to many calories for me as Betty will not let me have them. I think the Girl Guides are onto me though , the last time they came there was three of them all with a full box of Cookies. I was giving those things away for months.

Movie Fan just told what happened to me the parents came rushing up when I took the three boxes from the girls in shock thinking I was doing something wrong. Until I pulled out my wad of fives and counted out enough to cover the full purchase. The girls were all excited and the moms in surprise at what I did. You told it so clearly as if you were there …Glad I am not the only one to help these kids sell their wares. People who just closed the door in my face really bother me and come to think of it my parents were never following me when I was going door to door.

Got to admit the same thing here. Always shock them when I offer to take them all. Never gets old!

How did you ever get the courage and strength to GIVE AWAY Girl Guide Cookies?? I just couldn’t do it. Nothing better than a ‘frozen’ chocolate gg cookie!😋
For me, as a child growing up, it was the Boy Scouts who went for to door collecting bottles. Just loved it when coming to z home that had a ”heavy” beer drinker. Thought ya struck gold

My staff are too cheap to buy and share things like the candy and cookies mentioned in this thread. I on the other side Love to help spur the young peoples first step into the world of business where simply holding out your hand and asking for donations with offering nothing in return is not acceptable. I fully agree with having the young people selling something to obtain funds required for their end goal. Now do I really need 72 boxes of Girl Guide Cookies NO however if I ignited a spark in any of these young girls to think about a future in business, then I am very happy. It took a long time to give away all those cookies and explain how come I had them … but that night when those Girls and there Over watch walk down my sidewalk with their biggest sale of the month , they were not the only ones with smiles on their faces. My smile was just as large and it gave me that warm feeling inside. Now my wife thought I had gone off the deep end and questioned why but in the end she just summed it up as me being a real nice guy. Would I do it again? In a heart beat.
