CMT POINTS

I think that the dollar value of the bills should be weighted. what I mean by this is that when you enter a larger bill you should get more CMT points for entries and hits on larger bills based on the percentage of these bills entered and hit…What do the rest of you think about this….

eagle_fs

I don't agree. A hit is a hit is a hit.
The only difference it would make is it would give the people with lots of money an advantage.
Like the rich really need yet another advantage in life!!!

Lord_Comedy

the rich already have an advangtage by having more bills to enter
i agree with bdkingston. cause bigger bills get circulated less..
but we are not sure how the points work maybe DR has it slightly askew anyways

Good point BD and Comedy. I remember you mentioning this on MSN one night, L_C. Who knows, maybe it'll happen soon. :)

dr

I doubt that I will ever weight entries or hits like that for the CMT score. It's not really fair and doesn't really help reflect natural circulation.

not to mention that it is time consuming to add new things and dr is planning a wedding! or he SHOULD be helping anyhow.

or how about this really neat formula that takes into account signature combination, denomination, year of bill printing/design, weighted by phase of moon at time of hit, multiplied by participant's age raised to the power of the hitter's shoe size. yeah!… that's the ticket!

or we could just call a hit a hit. i think the joy of this site is the tracking of money – i'd almost prefer there to be no points, but i guess incentive is necessary to some.

21MillionDollarBaby

Well THAT was certainly very rude of you rudyk. I think bdk has a GOOD idea since it's much more difficult to get hits on 50's and 100's and entering larger bills takes up MORE cash. Interesting username you have…

rudyk

well, 21, i'd probably agree with you if what you said was strictly true. while getting a hit on a 5 seems relatively easy (a hit every 7.4 bills) there is precious little difference between the numbers for 10s and 20s (16.5 and 17.7 bills per hit, respectively). one can argue that there is not a significant differnce in the bills per hit at the $50 bill level, either (23.5 bills/hit). it is only at the $100 where hits become considerably more rare (76.9 bills/hit). you will likely notice, as well, that there is NOT a proportionate difference between denomination and the propensity of a hit. in addition, these values are dynamic, further making any "adjustment" to scoring both difficult and likely inequitable. you see, 21, the response WAS considered.

even though i have promlems ive come to tealize that a bill is a bill is a bill. maybe DR can look at a future upgtade which would allow a new division that would allow toints to be added by dollat value rather than by numbers. as frustrated as i get with the " points " the work we all do to try and make this site better is muchly appreciated by those who find this site.
thanks for listening DR.

Points are nice, but in the grand scheme of things, its hits that really count (to me anyways). Some good points made on both sides though.

Rudyk:

Regarding your formula, I don't think you have enough variables. Or do you propose to vary the rate of variables?

antics

and dont forget the weight of the person who entered it as opposed to the weight of the person giving the hit. lord give me another dozen beer!!

T-rev

Yeah in the end a hit is a hit and that is what CMT is all about… and hey why mess with something that already works well.

But to my other point, the poor have enough disadvantages in this ever increasing individualistic society (and though most Canadians won't admit it- AMERICANIZED society). So I don't think CMT should and hope CMT would never favour those who have larger value bills to enter.

T-Rev says: "and hey why mess with something that already works well."

is that what men do best? mess with things that already work well?

:)

I would rather enter 20 fives than one hundred dollar bill! more work but more fun.

p.s. if it aint broke dont fix it.

Pooga

And another couple of options I suggested ages ago.

A 400 day hit should be worth a bit more than a 40 day hit, which should be worth a bit more than a 4 day hit. Bonus for a bill's longevity!

And frequency could work as well. The 2nd or 3rd hit on a bill would be worth a tad more than the first hit.

Let's give the bills some credit. They're the ones doing all the traveling!

BDKINGSTON

I'm with you Pooga, But it would seem dr does not share this view, so be that as it may, I guess we will trod along with the way dr has decided, after all he is our grand pooba, and I for one appreciate all that he does for all of us addicts..Upward and onward..
