Here in Winnipeg, the local RBC that I used to always go to, to purchase bundles of $5 notes, paying for those with STAMPED higher denomination notes, have informed me that they are rejecting to accept ANY STAMPED NOTES!
I explained that they are still LEGAL TENDER, but the manager refused. In protest (not that they'll care), I closed all my accounts @ RBC.
So, I ASK, if possible, if you're depositing stamped notes into the bank, please use an RBC ATM whenever you can. Let's load them up with STAMPED notes!!
Sounds about right. I have an account with them, and they frequently don't have enough cash (in $50s/100s) to let me withdraw $2000 when I need to. And it's not like I live in a rural area, I live in a suburb of Vancouver. Horrid service.
Protip: RBC ATMs actually recirculate those stamped notes directly back out immediately. If you're depositing at an ATM anyway, they'll get you a lot of hits fast.
you guys should cool your jets and keep peace with the bank staff. They do not want stamped 50's and 100's , no problem enter them and send the out without stamp. Stealth bills get hit just not as often. I ask you this one question. Who do you think the Government listens to more? Money trackers who stamp the money or Banks that handle everyone's money including the Governments. Piss in their cornflakes (or on their parade) and see what happens. Carry on quietly in the background DO NOT Paint targets on our backs.
I think what pissed off the Manager the most is when I showed her a few notes where her tellers had banded the stacks and when stamping had actually missed the band and stamped the note. She was not overly impressed with me on that subject.
Yes, I may have overreacted by closing out ALL my accounts with the RBC as a result, but truly, I know they could care less, just one customer less.
I have NEVER, EVER had a problem with the other banks so I will continue to use them to order my notes (I REALLY DONT CARE WHICH BANK PROVIDES as we all know that they all come from the same place.). The "collectors" (mostly G4S Security) could care less if a note is stamped or not. They just count'em, band them in piles, and ship them back out to the banks.
Sigh. I guess nobody listens when the site rules say that you cannot deposit your own stamped notes in a financial institution.
Movie.. point your manager to the Bank of Canada site OR go over his head to the Regional Supervisor. I know I would escalate the issue!
Well most of us know how you can escalate things That's why your one of the 16. Ask Pooga the story of how he made his own job.
Believe me when I said I was PISSED! (but maintained my composure, which wasn't easy)
I showed her the website, with the "letter" from the BOC, but that didn't matter.
Again, losing 1 customer(no matter how many years a customer has) is no big deal to them.
So, I raise my finger to RBC and they can kiss my butt!
Funny they are one of my favorite go to Banks. Never had a problem with them.
It's not he bank it's the branch and the employees.
Exactly! Brank & Employees.
But so Pi$$ed off, I still said goodbye to RBC
