Bought two straps of $5s from TD, only one produced a hit… an unmarked from bankcollector! Was not in the greatest condition, but I marked it and sent it on its way.

Stamping 300 bills a day is very time consuming, along with buying the bills from the bank(s) and then entering them all (that is why I like ,bank fresh bills (a lot less key punching). I do slack off on stamping and openly admit that. We all have a mission on this site and each of those missions share many things in common, and have a few quirks of our own. My quirk is number of entries and now that Movie- fan is back in Canada the race is on. When I slow way down to say 75 bills a day I may stamp them all, but for now get use to Stealth bills. TD is one of the banks I use but it is interesting they are ending up in BC. Thank you for the hit.
Yes, stamping 300 notes a day is a very tedious job after having to enter them all. I (almost) always stamp my notes. I have burnt thru many a stamp pad. Some stamps may be smudged as when using a brand new stamp pad, the stamp becomes very slippery. Not done intentionally, but it happens. But, after a little use, it returns to normal.
My 2 banks that I use are TD & Scotiabank (with no problems ever encountered).
Recently i stopped using RBC (who was my #1 source of getting new bills) as a female manager decided that they were no longer gonna accept ANY stamped notes. I always by my lower denomination notes with 100s & 50s (that Yes, I have stamped). I tried to explain to her about the website and the legalities but she was adamant about being very closed minded on the subject. I was so Pi\(ed with her at the time that i closed all my accounts with RBC (been with then for almost 30 yrs and had many accounts). Bold move on my part, but i truly know that she and RBC could care less about losing 1 customer. But as i said, I was very Pi\)ed at the time
Well, lets just say that the other bank was more than happy to welcome me with open arms and take all my accounts. So, now I am blackballed with RBC.
Oh well, sucks to be me!!!
Its really a shame as after returning to Canada and starting up again, i have acquired new customers who appreciate my services. I have also been vert successful in reestablishing some of my older customers. Unfortunately, 2 have gone out of business (thanks covid 🤬)
In closing, I must say that there is the odd note that slips through the cracks when it comes time to stamping. Who knows, I may become like BANKCOLLECTOR and just put out stealth notes in the future 😉😄😂
NOW HOLD ON THERE BUCKAROO! I never said I do not stamp any bills. Other than Movie-fan (yes you!) I stamp more bills in a year than any other tracker on this site. If I only stamped 25% of my bills on an average week that would be over 250 stamped bills. I would think my average stamping is closer to 60% or 600 bills on average per week (more than most trackers stamp in a year). Now onto your other problems, The Stazon stamp pads, as they dry out a cap full of Isopropyl 99% dripped on the pad will add new lift to the pad. Also you can buy stazon ink in a bottle to apply to the pad. I used to run through pads like crazy and then started to experiment on them to find a cheaper way. Too much ink on a bill ? Use a damp tissue (Isopropyl) and stamp will wipe off the bill, let the bill dry and stamp again. Happy Tracking Please Keep Safe.
well, I just entered another unmarked note of Bankcollector's. I do, however get lots of his that are marked and lots that are not, so just sayin, he does mark notes.
Thanks for the tip on stazon stamp pads. I will remember that.
Where do you buy the Stazon ink…
Michaels and Amazon (direct) stopped carrying the refills. Amazon still carries the pads.
I have to order on Amazon (3rd party seller) or eBay for the refills now, shipped from the USA or Japan. Annoying to do, and the shipping takes forever, but I cannot find another source….
Try your local stamp shop I know ours sells the ink in small squeeze bottles.
Regular ink. Stazon is a solvent based ink and nobody carries a solvent based ink in this city. And I've called everywhere!
YA JUST GOOTA KNOW A GUY. Sending Movie Fan the red refill ink he requested and I also picked up a black for myself. $20.00 a bottle plus shipping for out of city requests.
Tsukineko 1/2 Fluid Ounce StazOn Multi-Surface Inker, Blazing Red
So….. Expect to start seeing some of my notes with a RED stamp!!
red seems to drive some electronic readers grief. Also brings lots of attention. Back in the beginning we were using all sorts of colours and stamp styles on both sides of the bills (some stamps we large).
In the days before stazon ink was required I had stamps for special times of the year (like Christmas). Was much different with the old bills.
And with the old notes, I loved UNC because I just ran them thru my printer. THAT was fast!
Most trackers just don't understand how long it takes to stamp 2100 bills. Over a year if that is all you stamp your have it easy. Try doing 2100 bills a week or 109,200 a year. If you stamped 2 bills per minute it would take you 910 hours to complete stamping one side that works out to 38 days if you stamped 24 hours a day. Stealth a percentage helps. I will state with the exception of Movie-Fan, my stamped bills in a year are more than anyone reading this enters in a year.
