Is there a specific way you break in the red ink pads?
I now have two black StazOn ink pads. They both were great immediately, and dry quickly. No giant mess of ink.
I bought a "Blazing Red" inkpad and refill. No matter what methods I try, such as trying to dry up the inkpad, or refilling it, or adding isopropanol, it becomes a giant blob of ink on the banknote, and takes hours to dry. Other times little ink is applied and the stamp is unreadable. No idea what to do with this.
The StazOn red Im using is Claret. Takes a long time to dry and yes, it blobs very easily. Gotta just touch the inkpad LIGHTLY!
Now, the blue I use is Blue Hawaii and it is atrocious! Blobs, smears and takes even longer to dry. Again, gotta barely touch the inkpad. Will be very happy when it starts to dry out
The old black pads I have are Jet Black. When new, they smear very easily but the inkpad drys out quickly.
My wife 'laughs' 😂 at me when I'm stamping cause I got bills spread out everywhere (actually she dislikes it😉). She just lets me be!!
Don't know what we can do except hope they start to dry out a little.
Maybe another tracker can chime in with their thoughts?
Stazon is a pain to use, try to leave the top off for ten minutes before stamping it will try the top area using less ink.
New Stazon ink pads are a pain. Always used Jed Black.
I started to get rid of excessive ink on the stamp by stamping on the old pad (sometimes twice, or more).
That way it "refills" the old pad. Before I stamp on notes I test stamp on paper.
Then stamping, will notice how much the ink is fading on the notes using the old pad….. repeat…..
This way never had a problem with drying.
When smearing, I clean it with nail polish. Paint thinner might work too.
ISO 99% works great a few drops on old pads restores them. Add ISO close pad for an hour then try. ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL 99% Has many uses from hand cleaner, screen cleaner and more.
ISO is much cheaper then other items mentioned, ISO on a tissue will clean smeared stamps off notes so you can try again.
