hi all… i want to start a new thread here and i want to talk about raceday16. no, i want to start off by saying that i am NOT suspicious of his success. i just think it is a pretty phenomenal story.
for a long time i saw his input totals and wondered why the guy din't have any hits (he had only 2 before this month (september)). september, however, has been crazy! he now sits at 124 and it seems every second hit is a raceday16 hit. it's like he just had to hit "critical mass" (over 5000 bills entered) and then it just took off. is this the experience of the other high rollers here? is there a magic number of bills entered and then the hits cascade like the dam broke? or was there a news story about stamped money in a manitoba paper? what is it? i think it's a very interesting story, whatever it is and i'd like to hear other opinions.

dr hasn't checked the September hits yet.
I've learned from experience to keep my questions to myself and wait until dr has verified the ALL hits. Getting to be a bit of a chore for him, I'm sure, but he does check them all eventually.
pooga, i guess i wasn't implicit enough… :)
i don't question the hits at all! i want to be very clear on that! i am curious about trying to understand what has happened, such as, is there a "critical mass"?
It saves him a lot of time if you police your own hits, and tell DR if there is one you are suspisious of. IF you are going to blow the whistle on a hit someone else has, don't do it on a public forum. Use regular e-mail to the individual or to DR.
well rudyk, this the truth. I have just entered my 4000 bill and can tell you that I was averaging about 4 hits a week and now out ofhte blue it is about 12 or maybe more a week. go figger…I can only tell you that i figgered it was about time. :-)
I can answer one question. No, there hasn't been any news stories in a major Mb. paper about stamped money. It's about time raceday got to enjoy some success with this site. WTG raceday!
i had to enter a lot of bills before I got hits worth mentioning! Of course I also live in a village and dont get out a whole lot. My business is seasonal so of course I had more tourists leaving with marked bills. My hit average is still kind of low as compared to some people but it has improved in a major way.
When you look at the number of bills he has entered, and the number of hits he has got, I think it's about time the hits started coming in for him. I looked at his hits on sep. 27th & 28th with 15 hits each day and wondered????Then I looked at my hits….almost twice as many as his with less than half the number of bills entered. Living in saskatoon does help but it is his turn. Go raceday!!!!
With all this curiosity going on, i hate to start getting hits with all the bills i've entered.
MY GAWD J-LYNN…..if they haven't started coming in yet????? Are you sure you're marking them?
just kiddin….they WILL come!!!!!
Normally I don't post message here but it seems to me that some people have the wrong idea…..no one is questioning the validity of raceday's hits…..people are asking is there a threshold number of bills that one enters for which at one point their numbers of hits takes off…..an example from the world of science is the angle of repose…..or its like the leaves in your backyard….they fall at their own leisure until the first frost and first good wind and then they fall off in droves…..i hope that clears things up for a few people
the angle of repose….
Mine is exactly zero degrees. I can't sleep standing up!
(I know, I know, poor pun. I deal with angle of repose a bit in the brewing business… grains, etc.)
if you did sleep standing up pooga, then could we go pooga tipping?
(as opposed to cow tipping)
antics, you have my curiosity now… what the heck is cow tipping?
or should i ask?
no! you shouldn't ask.
And I'll let antics tell you what it is!!!
you sneak up on a cow that is sleeping (while standing of course)and give it a hard push so that it falls over. the cow wakes up somewhat confused and just gets up again or on a rare occasion will just sort of half sit up and go back to sleep. by the way dont stick around just in case. :o)
rofl.. ok.. not sure if it would stand for Poogie Tipping, because, isnt he always confused ?
JK poogie..
thanks for the definition of cow tipping, antics. and not to worry, i think i can figure out the rest. oh geesh, now my kid is explaining it to me…
When we are at the cottage, we outhouse tip. And no, you don't want to hang around.
