I got several american $1.00 bills at the bank today, and when I got home and looked thru them, I was totally awsumized by what was among the bunch. A "SILVER CERTIFICATE", SERIES 1957. I had only heard of these bills in a movie called "Flashpoint". I never knew they actually existed (maybe I just never noticed before). I need to know every thing possible about this bill. Who, What, When, Where, Why and Worth? Any info at all would so greatly appreciated. It has blue serial #,s and a blue seal. Across the top middle is SILVER CERTIFICATE , and across middle bottom it reads ONE DOLLAR… IN SILVER PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND. I,m thrilled to own such a piece of cash. It is in very good condition. THX GUYS

Hi teepeejay,
I'm a newbie, joined on the 23rd January 2004.
I'm in the process of feeling my way around and discovered your query.
What did you find out about your note?
I collect paper money and coins, I remembered having a US Silver Certificate and since I had to put my collection away for quite a spell, I dought it out to-day and there it was a silver certificate. To my eye it is in good condition.
Anyhow, can you let me know what you found out about yours please?
You can reply to: scotty.malette@calgaryhealthregion.ca.
Appreciate hearing from you.
