Withdrawing Cash

Hello all,

I've been withdrawing 100 $5 bills for tracking purposes twice a week, and re-depositing them to the same branch every time before withdrawing more.
My question is, how does everyone go about obtaining and getting rid of their bills for tracking purposes? Like most of us, I don't have the need to spend $500 in cash every few days. Do you all just re-deposit them into the bank, or slowly spend them? I just don't want to seem suspicious to the banking system, but I doubt I'd be dealt with as there are a lot more suspicious things that people do with money than this.
As a side note, I also do not mark my bills. All my bills that I've entered are stealth.
Thanks if you can give some advice!

Withdrawing and redepositing at the same branch is frowned upon. It does not really "track the normal flow of banknotes".

Use cash as much as possible.

One method used by a few is to go to a store that does use a lot of cash. Like a grocery store. Go to the service window and ask to buy 5 $100 bills. Mark those, then go get more 5s.

Do you still write cheques? Pay with cash instead.

Others should have more ideas!

Agree with Pooga
Once you find a business (gas stations etc) who need small bills, exchange them for larger denominations. Saves them a trip to the bank.
I always use cash when at an airport. Better chance of travelling that way!!
I have established relationships with certain ‘clients’ who ask me for smaller bills.
For large sums of notes, order directly from the bank. At my branch, they are all aware of what I do and are happy to oblige.
When I pay off my Visa & Mastercard bills, I pay in cash! Another way to get rid of a lot of notes (all stamped!)

Be advised that if you withdraw & deposit using ATM too often, it can raise a flag with the bank to ‘watch’ the account.

Thanks for the advice! I also go to the casino occasionally, so that should be a good way to exchange my bills. I do play mainly table games though, and probably should keep the exchanging to the slots 😁

I'll try asking small businesses around, and see what they can do for me. Thank you!

Back in the day, searching for rare serial numbers, I would withdraw and redeposit hundreds of bills per day for years on end. Never had an issue with TD, BNS, Vancity, or HSBC, but RBC got angry pretty quickly.

I might be a little bit late for this.

When I was entering more bills. I usually withdrew from the bank in smaller denominations like 5s and 10s. I figured it would make for more bills out there and I tried to pay cash for everything.

I never even thought about the casino here, mind you I have not been inside since the 90s
