Update from Douglas

Okay, I'm back from Army now so I've dedicated a few hours to site clean up and I will address some points.

  1. Regarding the Saskatchewan users meeting… in the spirit of the fun, I am going to allow the 6 hit bill to stay. However, future hits on this bill will not count towards anyone's hit count (I will be adding code to the system to support a bill not counting towards hit counts). Also, no one else will be allowed to do this in the future. Anyone replicating the stunt will be bludgened toi death. :) The reason is, right now, all hits have to be manually removed from the DB which is a major pain for me to do. On that note, anyone planning something "out of the ordinary" in the future should clear it with me first as I probably have an easy way for you do do it without causing me too many hassles.

  2. On the note of hits, I am in the process of cleaning up "questionable" hits. This means that you may see your hit count drop and will include the 6 hit bill… all users invoved with the 6 hit bill will see their hit count drop appropriately, as though they had never entered the bill in the first place. So for the rest of you, don't worry about it "not being fair"… those hits won't count.

  3. Regarding me following your "rules"… forget it. We'll see you in Hell before I take orders from a bunch of hooligans from Saskatchewan. :)

  4. To all those who defended me against the attempted "mutiny" while I was gone, thanks. You will all be promoted in the near future. :) Seriously though, it's all in fun so all is good.

  5. Some congrats worth noting… congrats to those of you who passed me in 'bills entered' in the last couple of weeks… pretty soon I won't even be on the top ten anymore. Congrats to 'Crazy Dwarf' for passing the 1000 bill mark. Congrats to SAUCY-EYE for finally passing me in the CMT Score and hits department after an eight-month long haul. And finally, congrats to me for getting promoted to Sergeant on the weekend. :)

Have a great week everyone,
-dr

Sarge

Congrats on the promotion from me as well. Do you graduate to an 'upstairs' Mess in your armoury now?

(We are using a 'senior ranks' mess format in Saskatoon…Sgts and above, and officers. I'm the PMC)

Serotonin

Welcome back dr. You are back with a vengence. That is quite a manifesto in keeping with the calibre of the Declaration from Sask.
My nephew in Calgary just joined the reserves. He played bagpipes in cadets. Do you go out on exercises often? Is the pay okay? Any chance for overseas work with the Armed Forces; as in Afghanistan? Pooga is lying low right now. He can address you as Sir now. Perhaps donate several kegs of beer for Team West who stood by valiantly, and courageously defending your honour and leadership. Goodbye, Sir!

dr

Sarge: All the messes are upstairs, but in different corners of the building. And no, it's a Sgt's and Warrant's mess.

Serotonin: Thanks. Well if your nephew played bagpipes, I supect he joined the Calgary Highlanders, an infantry regiment. I'm in the armoured corps (tanks rule). The pay is pretty good, better than it used to be. As a Sgt I think I get $112 per day worked. Regarding overseas work; at this point all overseas work is on a volunteer basis. My roommate just got back from Bosnia, for example. Regarding the beer, ya, I'm all over that. I promised the Junior Ranks boys that rather than buying a round for them I would buy a keg and throw a huge party at my place. :)

My name is Douglas too. Serotonin actually refers to a brain chemical (serotonin) which is thought to be out of whack in people who are compulsive or get "addicted" to stamping and tracking bills (or collectors, which is me).Does anyone call you Doug, Dougie, Doogie, etc?

MmmBeer

Darn, another party, more messages about headaches and hangover remidies. I wanna come.. ANyway you may wanna add that code for no no hits to me and my bro, It happened again today.. I gave him a hit, sorry. Anyway, ordered and new, custom stamp. Way cheaper. It says

"track this bill online
accross Canada @
www.cdn-money.com

Anyway, cant wait for it to come in (2 weeks) Why cant Office depot get their butts in gear, how long does it really take? Took me 15mins to make my old one :)
Oh well

JADE11

I always say "please" when i write on bills. I really need a stamp I cant believe I have written on over 1400 bills, where has my time gone.

Serotonin

It's amazing what people will do when their brain chemistry is dysregulated. Where do I find the time also but it's cheap entertainment. I'm going to change my simple stamp. It's not working. I think "please" follow the bill may be a nice touch.

Idjit

When we had our little get-together the other night, we were talking about the place we got our stamps made. Rose's Marking in Saskatoon. They are economical, fast, (two days for mine), and great selection. We were wondering if we could get a group discount. Two weeks seems a bit much when you need to stamp bills!

Serotonin

I'm surprised you boys in Sask. haven't got caps with the www. site on it. Everyone wears ballcaps and carries a rifle in the back window of their trucks don't they?

Pooga

Not lying low!

Lying on the beach. On the net only because it's too bloody hot out there right now and I'm just a little tired of cervazia and ron! (beer and rum)

MmmBeer

I want a cervazia.. What kind? Anyway, I thought 2 weeks was a little much also. Like i said it took me 30 mins to make my old one. I think i know when i lost it now.. At my Grandma's house..? But i might of dropped at the Flames game while selling 50/50s.. Hmmm.

MMMcervazia :)

armouredfist

so my best friend SGT Doug…
when are you going to throw your always
enjoyable party????
please dont forget to invite the women!!!

Pooga

future hits on this bill will not count towards anyone's hit count (I will be adding code to the system to support a bill not counting towards hit counts).

Totally understandable, however I hope that you will allow others to enter it. I took the bill with me to the Dominican, and spent it on the plane on the way back. So even if it is never heard from again, it HAS travelled a LONG way!

And finally, congrats to me for getting promoted to Sergeant on the weekend.

Congrats indeed! What's next? WO? How long before you're 'in the zone'?
