COUNTERFEIT ALERT!

There are some counterfeit new $10.00 bills floating around, and no significant publicity about it…I read this on a memo left lying around at a TD bank I happened to be at the other day.

These bills are slightly washed out, and the maple leaf holograms are not visible. It does take a close inspection to notice their absence. The bill is also slightly smaller than normal size. If you get a washed-out bill, check for the holograms. If the presenter is there, tell him/her to 'take it to the bank!'

I thought that the new ten was going to 'virtually eliminate' counterfeiting? Is this one a good copy or is it fairly obvious? Now that you mention it, there was an alert for counterfeit $50 posted at a store I was in the other day. If I can, I'll try and find out more about that one.
