Okay I am new in here and for the time being I am using the computer to mark my bills. Now I plan to order a stamp asap and would like to know if there are any guidelines I must follow? May I be creative or am I limited to some site design standards. LMK Bank Collector
Go nuts! Good taste and strategically placed stamps seem to work the best. Too messy/gaudy and is likely to get taken out of circulation, stamp it in a bad location, and the same thing might happen.
THANKS I WILL JUST FOLLOW YOUR EXAMPLE AS IT SEEMS TO WORK WELL FOR YOU.
I'm sure you know, but a "bad location" would be something like stamping on the foil on the newer bills. The ink tends not to stay on very well, plus that's a security feature. Also, avoid stamping on the Queen's face on the $20, as this is apparently not allowed. But by all means be creative. :)
Welcome BankCollector!! I too am an Inkjetter and proud of it!! Having a handstamp or Handwriting on the bills is great for the ones that are not in the best of condition and cause the printer to jam. Stay away from the glossy area on the backs of the Journey Series and try to avoid printing on the front unless you have it down to a fine art and it's fairly small, under the portrait, or at the top.
My handstamps are: 1 liner(Url) in caps & a 3 liner (centered). I still prefer inkjetting or a combination of two of these methods(handwriting on the front), because you can get so much more creative than most. I have more than 12 different templates, each using different fonts and colours and in the case of one template, I use at least 6 different colours and 6 lines of print!
Regardless of which method you use, try to avoid over marking and go easy on the hi-lighting. Make note of how you mark the bill, so you can see which ones are getting noticed more.
Good Luck and Have Fun!!
