Okay so by now most of the readers of the forum section are scratching your heads wonder who is this guy… well when I find something I like I jump in with both feet so expect to see me asking lots of questions. Hey I looked at all the FAQ section can I help it if i like to know things.
Question 1 (for today) when you get a bill hit what does it do to your score? or What is a hit worth?

Question 2 : Other than marking bills (a good thing)is there any other method that this site uses to promote peoples knowledge of the site?

Question 3: Is there a member newsletter or is everthing limited to on site forums and participation? I asked and received (thank you) a list of the levels so I thought there might be more on the net information for members?

1 - Your score goes up. The calculation of the score is a closely guarded secret by dr. If takes in to account the length of time on the site, number of bills entered, number of hits, etc. The first hit raises your score a lot, the more hits you get the less each one raises it.

2 - dr prefers for the site to get noticed through the natural flow of our bills. You can tell family and friends (usually getting responses like "Get a life"), and maybe get them to join, but he discourages telling cashiers to enter the bill or look at the site. I think that dr usually says when asked about a bill that he doesn't know anything.

The site has been mentioned on CTV's Web Mania about 2 years ago. There have been newspaper articles in the Edmonton (copies running in Calgary & Regina) and Saskatoon papers. dr has done a radio interview in Edmonton &/or Calgary as well.

3 - In your profile settings there is an option to receive a weekly newsletter. It comes out Monday mornings and has the top users for the week and the site.

Hope this answers your questions, maybe some of the old-timers can give better answers.

Thanks Kayfbee I missed the news letter info I will have to go look at the user area again. The point/score system I thought would be open information but hey I just joined not my place to rock the boat the policy is the policy. I will also heed the lead so to speak and adopt the I know nothing attitude. Thanks for the input. Merry Christmas Mark
