I suspect you're from Meaford. I was there once…went to a military ex up at the camp about 14(!) years ago. I recall digging into clay for days on end!
Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know a little more about our fellow addicts…. er…. enthusiasts.
I most certainly wish you a hit very soon! That's a lot of bills entered without a hit. Don't be shy about marking bills for general distribution, just don't be gaudy either.
Hi Teepeejay,
I really admire your persistence in entering bills. Here's hopeing you get a hit soon.
TO SARGE. Ah!!!! Nothing like digging clay at the Tank Range. There's lots of it up there. I used to hang out there quite a bit on the weekends at the "Mis-fire Pit". Who knows, I probably ran into you.
I only spent two weeks in Meaford (Sept 1990), but because it was basically a field ex for an army LOG course, we didn't get to the misfire pit until the end of the course. Fired my first - and only - Carl Gustav round there. I use a picture of trench digging following a rainstorm in Meaford in some of the presentations I give.
I was Regs then, Reserve now…check my profile. Also, check out DR's profile.
For anyone else who wondered what the heck a Carl Gustav was…
