Just Wondering

I would like to ask of all the users as to HOW they chose there user names (just brief) then maybe we could make a list or some thing and keep building to it as the site grows (did i start something or what) think i may need help on this one!!

1. JaketheDrifter-> was the first thing that popped into my mind when the system asked for a username. Didn't even think twice, just typed it in. Years ago, a friend of mine gave one of my pets the nickname "Jake", which then evolved into "JaketheDrifter," which by the way, has nothing to do with the character on that show, The Red Shoe Diaries.

Being a female, however, my "handle" has caused some confusion on the site. But I ain't about to change it.

I have always been called Maggiemae as a bartender and when the song from Rod Steward came along it was played on the jukebox from my customers everytime someone walked into the bar or if some one wanted to buy the bar a round. That was 20 years ago now…. :-)

Being an avid Numismatist(coin/paper money collector) among other things and the fact that I love paper money, Bill Collector seemed a natural. Besides the fact that it hadn't been taken, I don't mind getting called Bill and we're all hounded by one or another at some time in our lives, I couldn't resist! Similarily there are others out there with 'Money Collector', 'Old Bill collector' etc., who were probably like minded when choosing their names.

From the looks of things, I'd say this site has many more people using aliases than say WW or Where have I been, so your list should be quite long!

Back in the early days of elementary school I got the nickname "Mean Gene" from some of the older kids, after the WWF commentator Mean Gene Okerlund, and I was born in 1979, thus meangene79.

1. Pooga - Got the name while I was in a minor seminary 30 years ago. <a href=http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Old-Slavonic target=_blank>Old Slavonic</a> for "ogre".

1. Crazz - I was going to do crazy, but there was crazy dwarf(where is he?) So I just changed it a bit, at first I didn't like it, but now I think it suits me. People think I'm crazy to do this and Razz me all the time, so I'm crazz!!

antics came from my husband. I have an antiques collectibles store and he told me his mother always said stuff like "get these antics out of here" she preferred new stuff most likely as she never had much opportunity for new. so antics is slang for antiques (or playful childish behavior) semantics or some antics?

1. gouche92 -> In our younger years my brother and I played a lot of hockey and a lot of people had difficulty with out last name so they started calling us the "Gouche" (pronounced goosh) brothers. He always wore #29 and I took #92 thus the name gouche92…..

I dont know how I got my User.. I was looking for a user name on games.com once, and everything I tried was taken, than I remembered a website I went to called mmm.beer.com, so I tried it and it worked.. Probably also because my mom is a beer rep. I don't even like beer. Oh well, other people like beer.

I used to Box ( amatuer ) and i am very strong.. i have done all sorts of fighting and martial arts.
but then while chatting i went into some adult rooms..
where everyone had a Lord or Lady .. submissive name..
so i gave myself a Lordship
and i choose comedy cause when i was in high school y uncles took me out to bars all the time
here i was 15 .. and my uncles took me to Yuk Yuks ( comedy club ) I was heckling the comedian.. and he couldn't shut me up with his comedy… and he invited me up on stage..
I finished his 15 minute set.. and he was trying to heckle me.. but I got him good.. :) good thing I looked older than I was.. being a minor in a bar is a real no no.. LOL

Well I wish I had something as interesting as everyone else… but it's just my name. I have never had problems with it being used by someone else and I never forget my userid.

magpie- The site wouldn't let me use my usual nic so it was the first thing that came to mind. Might have had something to do with the Magpie that was in a tree outside raising havic at the time.
