I'm sure everyone has heard this by now, but just in case… there is another article on CBC's website on the new $100 note. It's scheduled to be released on March 17, 2004. And it has some pretty cool security features (as detailed on the Bank of Canada website).

Having looked closely at the bill and reviewing the security features, I have a few marking suggestions. It seems we may be somewhat limited as to where to mark the backs of them. Anywhere in the lower center area and to the right are ideal areas. Probably best to stay away from the security thread and below the glossy section where the large 100 is located(as is the case with current Journey bills) to avoid any possible conflicts.
Any EMS'd $100s are sure to draw attention, so I would give it my best shot and stay away from the front with the exception of perhaps handwriting the Url under Borden or in the box at the far left. Definately well thought out, with the colourful hologram leaves and watermark. Overall it's a very nice looking Banknote!! Too bad I can't afford many of those and will likely get more excited over the new $20!
Have a look at the <a href="http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/banknotes/newnote/index.html"target="_blank">BOC Website for all the details!
Must agree that it was well thought out, but the back looks too futuristic to me with the exception of the canoe.
Just my opinion, but I think it's darn ugly! They should have stuck with the birds.
I like it simply because it keeps in line with the new 5s and 10s. Looking forward to getting one!
Any idea how much the Lasting Impressions set will cost? I figure around $250-$300, which is a big jump from the $50 for the $10 set.
Be still, my heart…
Well, for anyone who hasn't heard my whinings before, allow me to say I agree totally with Jake. I think the new ones are ugly, quite overdone, and I'd rather have the birds design anyday!
Yes, i absolutley agee with jake and yourself and anyone else that they should have stuck with the bird series. I hate to see the $50 note (owl) turn into some sort of rocket ship…
this should be interesting, i may get a few good shots at havin a look at these here things… it's not too uncommon to see 100's come through the movie theater here… darn people paying for $4 in tickets with a $100…
also, yes, i will miss that owl. the owl was pimp.
