A possible explanation...

… to those hits from people who 'found' bills on the ground. I had a chat with a customer last night who initially refused one of my bills. He said he didn't want anyone to know about his financial dealings- he thought the police tracked money with websites like ours. He told me he 'already threw a couple of these away' after he found them in his cash. I wondered what kind of 'dealings' he meant. I soon found out- he sold some dope to another guy outside our store. The reason he wouldn't see the markings on the bill before- he just gave the stuff, and stuffed the folded up cash in his pocket- real trusting sort, I thought. I guess there's honour among thieves (and dope dealers).

not to mention money to throw away! no one said criminals were smart. if they were they would have regular jobs and the jails would be empty.

I've had a Tim Hortons refuse my stamped bills. They said they were bogus. They didn't give me a chance to explain to them what the stamp was all about. So I left my order on the counter and walked out. It's amazing how some people jump to conclusions without getting ANY of the facts first!

Bill Collector

As far as Tim Horton's refusing bills, I've never had that problem. They rarely even bat an eylash after shoving the bill under the light, so long as they can see the security features. Sure they may on occasion question the markings and given the time, I may explain it to them. For the most part they're too busy and see so much of WW, CMT, WHIB and WG money, it's not really an issue any longer. Ask them, if the bill was a fake, would you be drawing unwanted attention to it? I know this has been discussed before and gets into a whole other issue on education and wasn't the original theme of this post, but you know what I mean.

Idjit I went to bingo downtown and used marked bills to buy my cards so in fact the bills were paid as winning to customers. The lady in front of me won and they paid her off with some of my marked bills. She refused them and told them to pay her money that was not marked because for all she knew they could be counterfeit….GO FIGGER!!!!!!

Some people- you wonder how they survived this long…
My favorite memory in this regard is the person who said my bills were fake because of the stamp. I asked to borrow the stamp at her wicket, stamped the bback of her hand and then asked if she was still human… took her a minute to figure out what I was driving at- then she took my bills without further comment. We're good freinds now, but she's still not too bright…
