THEY WERE SO NEW HE THOUGHT THEY CAME FROM THE BANK ( WELL THEY DID ORIGINALLY BUT THEN I STAMPED THEM AND BOUGHT BEER WITH THEM SO NOW A QUESTION IF SARGE HAD ENTERED ALL NINE BILLS SPENT BY ME AT ONE LOCATION WHY WOULD DR SEND SOME TO HIT HEAVEN? SINCE I STARTED ON THIS SITE I NOW CARRY MANY STAMPED $5'S AND SPEND THEM EVERYWHERE I GO SO IF I MAKE A LARGE PURCHASE AND SOMEONE ELSE GETS A PILE OF MY BILLS AND ENTERS THEM WHY SHOULD I SUFFER FOR SUCH A THING ?

well… i guess it depends on how you feel about someone going out of their way to spend multiple units of bills at places where they KNOW members of this site work. if you are trying to track the normal and, on its own, very interesting flow of money out there, then that wouldn't be giving a very fair reflection of the way things really are. however, if you have some perverse need to "succeed" at something, perhaps because of some other inadequacies, then you SHOULD get credit for dumping fives at, say for example, a liquor store and an A & W. just speaking hypothetically and offering my own, personal opinion on martyrdom…

I've always had a different view of what constitutes 'natural' with regards to the distribution of money. All things being equal, I prefer to spend my cash where it could benefit my hobby- that is, if the price of a certain commodity is the same, the quality is equal, and there are no other differences other than one location is known for being 'CMT-freindly', I will use the CMT-freindly store every time. This has nothing to do with being obsessed with success, but rather spending my money where it is most welcome.
The idea of 'natural distribution' as described by some money tracking sites is somewhat disfunctional- they actually discourage spending cash at where known users work because this in itself is considered 'un-natural distribution'. This is rather perverse logic at best. In fact, any attempt to manipulate a person's decision on where they spend their cash must be disregarded by each individual in order to ensure the concept of 'natural distribution'. Anything else is a contrived, and therefore 'un-natural' attempt to 'naturalize' money distribution.
This being said, DR will intervene when he feels that there has been 'dumping' or some other arranged distribution of bills. Whether or not I agree with him in each circumstance, I accept this function as a part of the mechanics of this site and will never comment on bills sent to 'hit heaven' in these instances, nor do I have any interest in 'why'. Once I have done my part, I leave the results up to fate.

I DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF MY WAY TO VISIT LOCATIONS BUT IF I AM IN THE AREA AND I NEED A PRODUCT SOLD AT A KNOW CMT FRIENDLY SITE THEN YES I STOP AND PICK UP WHAT I WANT. AND NOW THAT I CARRY MOSTLY FIVES WHAT ELSE DOES SOMEONE EXPECT I WILL USE TO PAY FOR MY PURCHASES. I BOUGHT OVER $300.00 WORTH OF GROCIERS YESTERDAY AND PAID WITH 10 20'S AND 22 5'S … WAS THAT WRONG … NOT IN MY EYES (SOME MIGHT SAY I SHOULD HAVE USED ALL 5'S :-)). NOW IF THE NEXT CUSTOMER WHO GETS CHANGE FROM THAT TILL IS A MONEY TRACKER AND RECEIVES MANY OF MY FIVES THEN THEY SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO LOG THEM. The ultimate point as far as I'm concerned is that if everyone simply goes to "friendly places" and gets hits from those places, then the site simply digresses into an unnatural hit fest. If you must dump loads of bills on a friendly place, then I ask that you talk to the person there and ask that they not enter your bills on the site. I have been nice in the past and allowed the hits but removed the count. But that is way more trouble than simply sending them all to heaven. So let's just all try to avoid dumping.

:) Other than the $5's everything is in what I would think to be a fair mixture.
When I started the site, going to the casino I would ask for some $5's and nothing bigger than $20's as you are right most places don't like 50's or larger.
I've always asked for all $20's but for a while I did get some $5's Now.. not so much!!
As I know some people ( not just people who run businesses here) go to the bank and ask for $100 in $5's. I consider than unnatural. If you weren't participating in this site would you do so??

i have a till to keep full of change. if i run short for the post office etc, i borrow from the till till my next bank trip
Antics I never meant people who run business's, but regular people who have the average amount of money going though our hands.
I actually run a busines, but I don't need alot of $5's or change. most of my customers pay by check… After all.. I know where they live.. I moved them there.
If I spend a bunch of marked bills in one particular place I say nothing about the mark unless I'm asked. And I've only bee asked twice. I feel that by saying nothing, it makes for totaly fair play but also makes it less likely to get a hit. If the retailer or person is curious enough, they will check out this website. Giving a person a marked bill and telling them to find the nearest pc is not fair play the way I see it. This is only my opinion.
I agree, if they ask I will tell then otherwise I just let them go…. It is tough, but I let them go…..
I just want to echo what dr said in his posting. And, I'll add, perhaps we need reminding that this site is first and foremost an opportunity to track our money. The hit count is just a fun side effect. That's my 2 cents worth!
