re: bill entered, time strange |
You're right; the clock is correct. It just looks incorrect.
I don't see it as a case where "...it only baffles people who are unable to subtract...." I believe it baffles practically everyone...until such time as someone offers some clarification.
If there's an aspect of this whole thing that still baffles me, it's this: Why would anyone chose to prolong/perpetuate something that looks as if it's incorrect?
I can think of several possibilities; there probably are many others. These come to mind: (1) It's such a complex task to change it, that it's not worth the effort/time. (2) Someone somewhere actually prefers it this way. (3) Someone somewhere enjoys the reaction/discussion that it generates. (4) Someone somewhere may think it makes the site somehow look better because it's generating all this stimulating discussion. (5) No one with the power to change the clock situation cares enough/has time enough to make the change. (6) No one knows how to change the clock.
I guess for me, at least, I can live with CMT time whether it is correct, incorrect, looks incorrect or whatever; I'll check it once or twice a year until such time as it agrees with the clock on my wall; until then, I'll simply ignore it.
