I was in GAG-TOWN for a week back in '84 for the Combat Arms Officer Selection Board...trying to go Armoured-Reg Force. I didn't make it.
But I joined reserves in Infantry with N Sask R as a rifleman, spent a couple years in the ranks. After getting my corporals, I took an in-service commision, and eventually got to 2Lt. Then txfr'd to Regs in Logistics-Tn, spent a couple years in Pet with 2 Svc Bn, then a couple years in Ottawa at the puzzle palace. Left Regs in '94, came back to Reserves with 16 Svc Bn, where I am now OC B Coy. So I've spent most of my in-service time in Pet, Borden, WATC and Suffield (OJT in Regs).
SARGE was a nickname I picked up in High School.
