Can I use javascripts on my profile? Will it work on this site?

Actually, I found this from the archives:

Nope, there are no ads on this site. If you are seeing pop-up ads, it's because of another website you visited. And if you think it is, well you are wrong. The only way you could end up with a pop-up ad would be if someone had some fancy JavaScript in their profile. and you would only see it when you visited their profile page. And if that was the case, they would be removed as soon as I discovered it.

Would this be because the javas. was a popup or just that javas. aren't allowed on the site?
