Subject: dust off my soap box ...

well for those members who have been on the site for five or more years all this information will be like a view of the past and please before any of you go running i promise not to keep my soap box by my computer like it was in the beginning. for those who have been here less time please look at this thread as a little past history.

And as it was in the past it is now in the future. Idjit and Jake rally for number one spot as was the way five years ago. has our site has come full circle?

Many of the players (members) have changed and some have come on strong then faded away some have come to the site and made waves while some barely a ripple.

For a true history lesson on the site one would have to talk to Pooga or the creator DR. they have been on the site for so long that they would be able to write chapters on the going ons.

When I first arrived on the site thanks to three bills of Idjits that finally hooked me. A huge red stamp with a dollar sign in it finally made me seek out what these marked bills were all about. I had seen many marked bills previous to those but never thought to check out the site.
After arriving to the site I like most was frustrated with only a five bill a day limit and had list upon list of serial numbers to enter. As a new member people came out of the wood work (so to speak) to greet me and welcome me to the site ...I was invited to a dinner meeting at the med. rest. on 33rd. street in Saskatoon when I got to meet some really nice people. Idjit a larger than life gentleman with a full beard who reminded me of grizzly adams greeted me and introduced me to the table of members as his newest hit child. That night pooga awarded Idjit with an award and took it upon himself to chop my screen name down to a short form of BC. members ate and talked and laughed and it was a great time. I was even honoured to meet a member from the dark side (the other site) who later joined our site for a short time then vanished.

It was a regular thing with these members to meet over a meal and talk about life and the site. Saskatoon members were indeed a close group willing to be friends to any new comers. This has changed a bit as members have drifted apart as friends do in life but over the years I have had the privilage to meet some realy wondwerful people on this site some in person and some only in the forums.
some stayed for a short time while others have been around forever some I would love to meet and share a coffee just to see them in person and shake their hand... others I would like to meet just to see if they are real and as colorful as they are in the forums.

When I first arrived on the site the top players battled for number one position nad the same names were always in the top ten positions... I made it my goal to climb the ladder to real the top ten and try and stay there as long as i could. I was allowed the number one spot for some time as Jake and Idjit were side tracked with the game of life and put their time where it was required. Now both these members have returned strong and I have been put into number three spot. The members in the top ten have changed a little over the last five years and members of the past have fadded into the sunset with new members filling the open spots. I often wonder what happened to some of those members and to those wonderful dinner meetings (maybe we can get those dinner meetings going again) in some ways the site has come full circle and in other ways alot of what i have seen here is now history.

It hase been a great ride so far and I hope it continues long into the future... DR where are you ?
