so... with my marked paucity of hits, in the last 6 months, especially, i have also noted that my percentage of hits from outside of saskatchewan has increased (i am, of course, ensconced in SK). i wondered if that was a pattern shared by others and hence my most recent experiment.
i took a random sample of hits (the last 100 hits registered on the site) and did a province by province breakdown of those, by province of origin and where the most recent hit was registered. the results, in my perspective, are not surprising, but likely indicative of what has happened with the tracking of money on this site.
Hits by Province of Origin
--------------------------
SK - 61
AB - 26
BC - 6
ON - 5
QC - 1
MB - 1
clearly, most tracked notes on the site still are from saskatchewan trackers.
Hits by Province of Last entry
------------------------------
AB - 24
SK - 23
BC - 19
ON - 16
QC - 7
NL - 4
MB - 4
NS - 2
NB - 1
it is here suggested that, even with the general diffusion of currency, you would normally expect a closer agreement of the % of notes entered with those hit in each province. it seems clear, to me, at least, that saskatchewan has been saturated (with respect to diffusion) and those who might have been inclined to enter these notes in the past, no longer do so -- for whatever reason. my personal suspicion is that they have simply seen too many of them, with the market being flooded by some users' strategy of permeation by a surfeit of stamped banknotes. whatever the genesis, saturation is a real and normal part of diffusion theory and whatever is the reason in this case, it is clear to me that any growth of money-tracking on this site will take place OUTSIDE the borders of saskatchewan. so to all you non-saskatchewanians reading this... our future is in your hands! :)
