Actually, it's the Boreal forest. From Boreas, the Greek god of the north wind. And would you beleive that there is more in Saskatchewan than Alberta?

Since you brought it up, check out the June, 2002 edition of the National Geographic. Page 42. Very good story on this circumpolar entity.
