Roadtrip Day 2 |
We are now in Fargo ND.
A little more of a relaxing day. Started off with a round of golf at a course called Hawktree. Gorgeous course built in a coulee that used to be ranch land. Think Dakota Dunes in Saskatoon on fertilizer. Ranked #58 in the USA. Killed me, but THC did well. Going to the course, we went along River Road and got a good view of the flooding problems on the Missouri south of Garrison Dam. Many side roads closed, and houses sandbagged. Funny to see volleyball courts with water up the the nets!
The interstate going east from Bismarck is about as straight as they come. One spot is down to one lane traffic each way with dikes holding back the water, which is about a foot above road level. As we got closer to Fargo, the land was very similar to the Winnipeg area, which isn't surprising, since we're only about 300 km south and still in the Red River drainage basin.
Had supper at Olive Garden, which we still don't have in Saskatoon!
TTYT!
